I work in an office of around 20 people.
We have a kitchen / rest room
People bring in lunch stuff and nibbles and keep in the fridge
Would you help yourself to somebody else's food stuff ?
Not a happy bunny. I brought myself a choc bar and put in fridge
A colleague. Wouldn't say friend Has just sat and ate my bar !!!
Would you say something ?
Feel like saying Oi!! That was mine. Get your own !

We used to have an overzealous office manager who would throw out stuff without asking permission.
The company ended up replacing everyone's missing food. |

Yes I would say something. I'd make them buy me another or give me the money for it. It's theft. |

We have a communal kitchen area and it's classed as gross misconduct if you deliberately eat someone else's food from the fridge knowingly. People have name labels on their stuff so they class it as theft. |

Didn't think for one moment that I would need to label it
Should have put some laxative stuff in it.

I have a loaf of bread in my office for making toast, it was somewhat awkward when I walked in to the kitchen to find someone helping themselves.
Total piss take and shows a total lack of respect |

A colleague of ours started putting a few drops of food colouring in his milk to stop people pinching it. It didn't taste any different just looked strange.
We have 200 ish on our floor & are advised to label all food. Anything out of date is thrown away on a Friday evening by the cleaners.
I would never dream of using someone else's milk let alone eat their chocolate!!!! |

Teachers were terrible with stealing other peoples' provisions. Every day at morning briefing someone would complain that something had gone missing or milk and tea had been used. They didn't like washing up either, the sink was always full. They thought it was the cleaners job to do it. |

Think it goes on in most offices - Just as bad, is taking booze to a party.
Hostess puts it in the fridge - then after swiftly necking one bottle, you go back to fridge and find your 6 pack is suddenly a 2 pack.
Normal house party I mean, dunno about sex clubs/parties.

"I'm going to wait till after his left for the day and collect the evidence from his bin "
Give it the full csi photo treatment
Once you remove it from the bin you can't prove it was in there,
I would have a quiet manager word and let them make him aware fridge items are not a free for all,
Or laxatives the next one, in fact defo laxative the next one, or viagra, |

I shouldn't laugh, but that really is wicked.
Imagine being stuck at work all horned up. Might make using the lift a bit tricky! |

Stealing food happens all the time where I work .... but usually someone has enough to share. I usually buy enough for our whole team, then people ask ... at Mr's work, on a building site, everything he had bought went, a loaf or bread and a litre of milk for the week .... even happened the following week when he labelled it 'this milk has cum in' .... he had done it as well, oh well .... luckily he doesn't work there any more ... |

I'll second that about milk on some building sites, I used to take a 2 pint of blue top to last me the week. All the other bottles were green top, but most of mine had usually vanished by Wednesday. A couple of times I pissed in the rest and brought a fresh pint for the rest of the week |

Leave another one, suitably booby trapped....should fix the thriving git.
Bet he wouldn't do it to a bloke! Unless he has a penchant for hospital food? |

Unless you can prove that
a) it belongs to you
b) you saw it removed from the fridge
c) you saw him eat it after he removed it
d) you saw him put the wrapper in the bin
e) you made a good attempt to let him know it was yours before he started eating it
Then I don't think you can do much about it.
Maybe it was HIS and someone else took yours.
Also... If you put something in the fridge which causes someone else injury or illness whether it's yours or not you are liable.
Mention it to whoever is in charge but don't accuse the bloke just say it's gone missing. |

Was it definitely your chocolate bar? Could yours have fallen onto another shelf?
If it was yours it's theft and just bloody rude. I'd ask why he was eating my food. |

I said did you enjoy my chocolate after I has seen him eat it and dispose of the wrapper
He went bright red and said sorry I didn't think anyone would notice
Told him to replace it. |

What if it was an honest mistake? Why did you not simply mention it at the time? Now it looks like you are sneaking around trying to get them in trouble when you could have sorted everything without a problem at the time? |

Cheeky bugger, at least he had the grace to blush & say sorry.
I was going to suggest sending a department email saying whoever ate the chocolate bar had a 24 hour amnesty to replace it... |

That happened to a bloke I used to work with, his food was eaten by someone else.
He put a full bottle of laxitives in his left over milk, he also pissed in a salad he left in the fridge. He enjoyed telling the bloke who ate his salad, what he did to it. As for the milk, he couldn't keep a straight face when he mentioned the milk. |

Just shout it out ' oi cunt, that is my Fucking chocolate you are Fucking eating.' See the response you get, also everyone else will know he helps himself to others food.
On a subtle note, put a note on it saying 'fuck off (person name) get your own fucking chocolate. |
