Who uses the wink button? Not many I would suspect, it's such an unpopular item, it should be replaced by something useful.
I personally would like to see it replaced by a follow button, so when you click it, new photos, forum threads, meet requests and the like, show up on your news feed.
What would you like to see it replaced with? |

"I was in aware that the hotlist alerts you to new forum posts and meet requests"
Meet requests yes, Forum posts no. So actually hotlist doesn't do what yo actually asked! |

How about something similar to a certain app where you swipe left or right - instead of swiping, you simply click something that shows you might be interested - if the person does the same and presents a 'match' then hey presto, the ice is broken and you can message each other - this could work if you are also outside each other ranges/preferences, however, it cannot be abused because both parties have to 'match' before any messaging takes place. |

I think the 'true' intention of a wink has been lost. I'm sure the original idea was as a quick means to say, hey I like your profile come look at mine, then a wink back should be a pre-cursor for the chat / messaging to start.
In its purest form I think this is a good idea.
But of course I understand that many think it is lazy and block people who wink, preferring a proper message etc first. So it's kind of become obsolete and not fulfilling the intention it was brought in for.
If everyone used the wink in its simplest form and didn't see it as lazy or offensive I still think that it would be a great button.
If you replace it with something else you'll still get a % of users that don't like whatever else is brought in! You can't please all of the people all of the time! |

Definitely not that, I think its would bother me a little if someone was following my every post on the site as it's approaching stalker territory
The wink button itself is fine. |

Because some of us have to use our humour and personality to get laid, and it's hard to do that on a kinder app ( yeah I do know the real spelling lol) |

The wink button is fine...its just a little ambiguous at times with people's intent. Is it a,you're hot wink or a hello, fancy a chat wink? Best to message I'm thinking. |

Totally agree. I like the wink button and use it on a regular basis. I understand some people dont check it or think its lazy but then if I'm that keen to meet someone there is nothing stopping me following up with a message...
If i had to replace it a button to press to suggest someone sort out their attitude might be a good one... But then i do like to cause a little chaos |

I don't agree with that at all as those of us with message filters will then get bombarded by people outside our age range in the hope that we will be tempted to swipe back.
My understanding is that only those within a particular age range can wink so lets leave it at that |

There should be a shopping trolley button.
This would be sent to people who have a shopping list of demands.
There should also be a hula hoop button.
This would be sent to people who expect others to jump through hoops in order to meet them.
You could also have a Dr Martens boot button.
This could be sent to people who refuse to meet blacks and Asians. |

The idea would be that it remains anonymous unless you are both matched - so no messages, no bombarding, no impact, no rocket science |

could winks work with a choice from different preselected meanings, from just a nudge\like\hi to a look at my profile contact attempt
Keep them in one location, have an icon or something to identify the different meanings, basically so a wink has a meaning understood by everyone,
currently winks mean different things to different people
P.s. "Your an idiot, play a record" Is an acceptable response

The wink feature is a waste of time, in my opinion anyway. If someone is interested in talking to you they should start by messaging.
Having said that, a lot of first messages are pointless - "how r u hun" is not a message!
If you wink because you are afraid of rejection you need to man or woman up |

My understanding of them has always been a wink is there to say 'I have looked at your profile I'am interested, look at mine if you would like to talk wink back and I will send you a message'
Totally disagree that the recipient should then have to send the first message, wink back and the winker sends a message

Follow button be far better than that God damn wink button.
Wish could turn winks off like can Fabs on pics off if choose to |

Who said "the recipient should then have to send the first message"? I said if someone is interested they should message.
In general men think the wink button is fine, probably because they don't get tons of them a day |

She never said recipient sends first message, what she said was wink load bollocks, if someone interested they should just message
I personally agree, I don't check winks, if I am interested in someone I'll message them |

Quite alot of my connections and even a few of my meets have come from receiving 'winks'. I think women and couples find it useful if looking for a suitable single guy on here....A guy will ALWAYS contact an attractive woman or couple back...so for them it makes sense and is a good tool.... |

Can we swap it for a give your head a wobble button please?
When someone's going a bit crazy you can let them know without being too rude and getting a ban.
It could have a great emoji and sound affect attached!!! |

In that case though surely those who are outside my age range wouldn't be able to swipe as they'd never be a match surely? |
