Hmmm... First to the statue of liberty, then for lunch in central park (hot dogs, of course). Then I'd take you on the subway over to the Brooklyn Bridge. After walking across, we'd get pizza and ice cream in Brooklyn.
Then maybe finish off with some fun, if you're up for it

Well if you're here this weekend there's the Leeds music festival at bramham park.. loads of bands..
or or there's a local beer festival on with bands and about 60 different beers Friday through Sunday.... To get the full bit about Leeds you need to live here. Masses to see and do.

"My town is small, history mainly in the churches & lots of new development happening.
I live 2 miles from Shugborough Hall if you like stately homes with nice gardens?
"
I love a stately home.
If it were my home town i'd take you to Kenwood (a favourite) and Camden Town. Maybe take you to see the view at Primrose Hill. |

My home town? Haven't a clue, most of what I remember from it has been torn down since I left.
Southend? Well, we'd go for a walk along the pier, play in the arcades, Chinnery's for some live music and good old fashioned snogging in the corner. And then maybe a trip to the hotel just up the road that has a jacuzzi bath?? |

I usually walk both ways. Although my sister came down recently and we had to get the train back.
Chinnery's is a great club. OPM are playing there soon. Can't wait to see them live. |

By the time i've walked down the prom both ways there's no way I can do both ways on the pier too. But that's living with a chronic condition for you! |

The hills and woodlands above the town. It's an AONB
On a clear day you can see across the Dee Estuary and the Merseyside and be grateful we don't live in Liverpool |

We love Edinburgh as my family are there (my dad was born there). Visited last year for the tattoo & coming back again next year. It's nice to be able to do the tourist stuff with the boys rather than just visiting the family.
The castle, the dungeons, Arthur's Seat. I'd love to see some of the festival but not sure how suitable it is for kids? |

How old are your kids? There's loads on for kids too. Sign up to Edinburgh Fringe and they'll send you a brochure of all the shows when it comes out. I think there are guidelines as to what's suitable in the same way films are labelled for ages. It's a great time to visit the city, especially if you have family to stay with. |

Sandwell valley, then the town centre for nandos, possibly a trip to the Albion, then down the road to see another poster at the zoo and Black Country museum, then while in Dudley a but of kinky naughtiness at club Valhalla, then back up to west brom to xtasia.
If you ever find yourself down this way, there's plenty to do and see |

Camera Obscura is worth a visit. If you go onto the Edinburgh Spotlight page on bookface they sometimes have competitions. Historic Scotland are the same. You can get a family membership for peanuts and it lets you into the castle etc for free. I'm not sure if you need to sign up for any length of time so worth checking the small print but you could sign up to that a month before you come up and then cancel it after if you're not coming back that often. It's good value though. |

I live in a very small market town, my friend from a city calls it a hamlet but there is interesting places here to see just for a day, tom thumbs cottage, all the horseshoes in the non existent castle.
We do have bus trips come here but what they do is go to Rutland water in the morning, stop here for lunch then gates nursery in the afternoon. Both 4 miles either side of me.
I live in the market town of the smallest county in England as as its so small I'd probably take you round the county rather than just the town.

Birmingham library - please bring a book, as new books are budget cut casualties. Then some drinks and a walk along the famous canals.
And we'll make a steal and join the black country lot at the museum, claiming Dudley is just a Birmingham suburb. |

How bloody dare you!
No part of the beautiful Black Country is, has been or ever will be a part of Birmingham.
You're going to start a civil war at this rate lol

You can see the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn. And I wouldn't go to ground zero, and I wouldn't bring someone there. In my opinion, it isn't a tourist destination.

I want to add in some good, old American country living:
Because my town is very small and I don't live in the city limits anyway...ATV's down on the creek with a cooler full of beer is the way to spend the day! Then bonfire and good tunes as the sun goes down |

Town i live is is genuinely beautiful.. palm tree's a gorgeous river, stunning architecture, beautiful churches, band stand, planted and well kept gardens, a community park and playground.
we have a castle, various canons along the river, bayards cove, cobbled streets, winding steps that are uneven..
its just lovely and very photogenic. |

I'd take you all for coffee in Gunwharf to start off, followed by a trip to the Mary Roses museum before heading to the beach to skin stones and perhaps visit the miniature village or the aquarium.
After we'll double back and get something, maybe even an ice cream at sprinkles. A trip up the spinnaker tower is a must and we could probably go dogging up Portsdown Hill when it gets dark if you're that way inclined (I'm not a great fan of it but I'm an accommodating host) |

Definitely prefer the countryside, peace and quiet and secluded areas... |
