I've got a brilliant book from the 60's called "Handy hints and Tips".
Here's a couple - "if your bananas have gone brown, push a clean stick in them, freeze them and give them to your children as delicious summer treats"

Mayfly & dragon flys have a average lifespan of 24 hours.
Starfish doesn't have a brain.
Polar bears are naturally use their left paw more then the right.
