MAMOBA, miles and miles of bugger all (Aberdeenshire) |
Not done it personally but a few friends have.
Do it at your own pace, listen to your body and don't progress through the weeks until you are ready.
Keep it fun!
Oh and good luck! |

Go for it, as before, a good pair of runners and take it easy to start of with to ensure you don't
get shin splints. You'll be fine. I started it in June and am doing a 5K in a couple of weeks! |

I stared from scratch......and i have advanced to doing a half marathon...tri's...
So the trick is start slow and build up gradually.....it's 90 per cent in the mind......
So the main ingredient is a good head.
Good luck xx |

"For tomorrow i start couch 2 5k...
......
I have NO idea what this means.
It's a programme for building up from being sedentary to being able to run 5k."
It actually builds uou up to running for half an hour and I guess most people can run 5k in half am hour. I can't but I did it and now run 10k and even further...once!! Lol

I was waiting for Evie to drop in on this one
If anyone can offer advice she can
It's all well to good talking about good shoes. ... but get them fitted at a proper running shop, with a treadmill, and gait analysis
They'll advise you what type of shoe would suit your particular needs |

I did a similar programe 10 years ago, kept up the running for two years losing 11 stone (from 25 stone) in 14 months.
Unfortunately a back injury and a nasty divorce stopped me running, might start again when the kids go back to school |

A different aporoach....but just try fartlet training at first....
Ok ok get all the giggles out..
Its more sporadic bursts...ie..
Walk 1 minute
Sprint 1 minute
X 10
It has an amazing effect on building up stamina very quickly which will really help with the longer runs.
And squats...get squatting!!!
But ideally tap into your mindset tell yourself daily you can do it.
Good luck.
