Ok..my next door neighbours are stripping all the floorboards out of their house and replacing them.
Am I out of order to want to go and shove one of them up their arses as they are still banging at half ten in the evening???

Do it, and shove it in sideways!! I hate noisy neighbours! I live in a flat and the neighbour above me does an amazing impression of a baby hippo, stomping around the flat, banging and crashing about.
10.30 in the evening is taking the mickey as far as I'm concerned. |

You're totally within your rights to ask them to stop. Whilst most of us work and evenings and weekends are the only time left for DIY, it's not unreasonable to expect your neighbours to stop being noisy after a certain time.
I'm not sure I'd ram the floorboards anywhere, that'll probably get you into trouble but a polite word is perfectly acceptable. 
My neighbours upstairs have absolutely no concept that there's someone living under them. In my opinion, if you live in a flat and have people underneath you then you shouldn't be allowed to have wooden floors. If you do, you should be aware of the noise you make whilst you wander round with your heels on or come in at two in the morning, sit on the end of the bed and throw your shoes on the floor!  |

snap, I got one of those too. Could you not swap with him and we would both be happy?
Do it, and shove it in sideways!! I hate noisy neighbours! I live in a flat and the neighbour above me does an amazing impression of a baby hippo, stomping around the flat, banging and crashing about.
