"Isn't the idea of Lucozade to give you energy when you're ill? I just want it as another vitamin drink to have, found the sports one with 50 calories in it"
I always associate Lucozade with being ill |

It was when we were young. Now the adverts would have you believe you're WonderWoman if you drink it.

There are two basic 'kinds' - Lucozde "energy" is fairly high cal, glucose based drink to aid sports recovery/fuel performance.
Lucozade "sport" is isotonic for when you need to replace fluids quickly - i.e. when you might become dehydrated.
I used to drink the latter a lot when I first had my ileostomy as it is a darn sight nicer than Dioralyte. I find now that I drink enough liquid not to really need it.
They are both have their purposes and are probably only 'unhealthy' if, like anything you over consume.
I prefer to boost my glucose post workout with sweets made of glucose - my current favourites are 'sour loops'. There is some research which suggests that spiking ones glucose post resistance training aids in muscle building/recovery, and it has also been suggested that this metabolic pathway aids fat burning (when in a calorific deficit, obviously). Hence the popularity of Harbos with muscle-types. |

There is only really cloudy lemonade, in lower sugar version, the average calorie count is 210 per 380ml bottle.
I used to drink lucozade original in a glass bottle with the orange plastic film wrapped around it.
It was originally formulated as a medicinal remedy, but now its a sports drink.
The name comes from 'glucose-ade' , the label specifically says 'not for replacing fluids lost by an upset stomach'. |

There aren't any vitamins in any of these drinks. Sugar, glucose, co2, flavoring
Be better off with sugar free squash and a box of Centrum.. General vitamins, women's ones or age related ones..
Even the Vitamin waters brand aren't much good, and expensive!

After a good long walk or log chopping session I have milk .
When I used to play rugby they banned sports drinks , too much sugar and test have proved milk hydrates you quicker and has all the salts and vitamins you need |

" I have all those anyway, just fancied something else, anyway got the sports one, 50 calories a bottle and did what I wanted it to, not like I'm going to be living on the stuff, and anyway a little sugar occasionally does me good |
