Has there been a fab pic leak?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Any pics can be 'leaked' as they can be copied and saved by anyone. You don't want to lose control of your pics don't post them.
There have been accounts on Facebook and tumblr etc where sad individuals have decided to steal lots of pics and post them about the place. Fab have done their best to contact the site owners and ask for the pics to be removed etc and deleted accounts of those they know to be the culprit but it takes time.

The thing is Fab is a free site so it doesn't take any effort at all to create an account and then view/steal pics and a bit of profile information.
The risks are obvious when joining this site or any similar sites so if you have something to hide or concerns the choice is quite simple. |

We do realise any pics can be leaked, we aren't nieve. It was just a simple question asking if anyone had heard if fab had be hacked.
It just seems a bit odd why some local guys have posted a status claiming this.
Thanks x |

Probably a new tactic to fill their empty inboxes... |

This sort of moves on from the AM thread.
There is a term called social engineering. This is where a trickster cons you into doing something which you may normally not do but you believe them.
There are thousands of fake profiles on these sites and many will persuade you to send them pics perhaps then con you into a kik address or email address, from there they can get your Facebook account. In fact I am on another site where I use my real email address and my Facebook pics up on people's emails and suggests I add them as a friend. Useful as I can look at the real person before I work with them. A tip here is remove your surname from Facebook,
A lot of this is not for fraud or blackmail reasons, many of it is just being naughty or just nosey.

I sometimes think it's a shame I can't post some of my pics elsewhere. I always look better in my fab ones than I do in some of the ones that find my social media pages! |

There actually was an incident about a month ago, which affected many ladies in Wales, where their photos were grabbed and put up onto a rodent site
Fortunately it all got sorted in the end
Have a browse back through the Wales forum for info |

Funny you say that. Did you know that if you type your password on the forums it automatically recognises it and replaces it with asterisks when posted.

There have been fab pictures turning up on some wanker's tumblr blog, along with screen shots of messages he has received complete with phone numbers. Not a hack though, just a total pratt copying images from public profiles, exposing images from "friends only" photos, and disclosing private messages.
The moral is keep private what you want to be private, be careful who you accept as friends and don't give anyone face pics or telephone numbers to people that you don't know if that worries you. |

Ah ok, obviously we know how easy it is to copy public pics (as some have felt the need to point this out) but wondered if the pics had been in taken from private galleries. Thanks |

Nobody on fab has claimed that - just public and friends only pics. |
