Who the fuck makes these bizarre decisions in the media to pixelate/blur images on tv these days? Or bleep/obscure words?
We were watching 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, Sean Lock put on a 'nude suit' and they pixelated the groin??
The review says "Strong language, adult humour etc."
A few weeks ago a Peter Kay prerecorded live stand-up show was broadcast and most of his swearing was obscured by bizarre noises??
Watch a soap (if you have to) and frequently after the credits an announcement along the lines of 'If you have been affected by issues in this fantasy crap........ ring this number you sad sucker'
Who the fuck do these media people think they are?

It's not the nude suit groin that requires censorship. It's the dull witted, semi scripted, auto cue chimps. Otherwise known as tax payer funded entertainers or as I like to think of them, benefit scroungers. |

I might be wrong (very rare though) but I believe that there's a panel of people who look at each program and make a decision based on the a whole number of criteria. Things like time and day of the week, is it the school holidays, are any of the stars involved in other things and what was on immediately before... These things will all impact how likely it is that the audience is younger than they would like and "need protecting".
For example. If you were to have someone like Daniel Radcliff or Emma Thompson on any program, then you'll guarantee that the program will become attractive to kids. Even if they don't stop up and watch it, they'll almost certainly get dad to record it for watching later ... or watch it on youtube in the morning.

Very good point, especially when you take into account modern recording boxes being able to record programmes and people's refusal to parent their kids! |
