I had a lovely meal out with my best friend & my "niece"/god daughter this evening. I can't believe how clever my god daughter is getting, she really makes me proud and gives me a reason for living.

So, what's brightened your day?

Finally getting a really, really urgent 1kB email with a 42kB attachment sent. It took 2 bloody hours due to various computer problems.

It didn't make me smile but it was a big relief.

Not exactly today but I thought of it and it made me smile.

On Saturday in Torquay and walking back to our car after a great day on the marina. We get up to the one way system near the town hall and the lights turn red. A car (a small red mk2 fiesta) came speeding at the lights but stopped in good time, calmly and in control.

What made us smile was that the driver was a white haired 80 something old dear who had a big grin on her face.

As we crossed, her window was slightly down and could hear her blaring out dance tunes.

The lights turned green and rest assured, she went off at the the shot of a gun and was last seen hitting the corner at pace before disappearing into the straight (obviously accelerating and leaving a trail of smoke).

So if you are out and about in Torquay, watch out for Granny Boy Racers!

That's what made us laugh at the weekend and also made me smile today.

My daughter had her retainer fitted today (clip braces) and now she can't say anything properly.

I shouldn't laugh, but it's so difficult not to

She's disgusted she's not allowed chewing gum or sweet any more

Keeping them in is going to be the hardest job

He's not been allowed since the train tracks went on a year ago. He's not meant to drink fizzy pop either but I've stopped fighting that battle!! His retainer will only be worn when sleeping

My hubby is out of town until Sunday, but he sent me a very sweet "miss you" text earlier....pulled me right out of the funk I was in.

May seem a little thing, but he's not normally one to be so sweet!

Lots of things today, which is fab as I've had weeks of depression. My boys chattering on the way to school, messages from my fb, the weather, the smell of the washing when I brought it in from the line, my sister and her baby. It's been a really lovely day
