Try slimming world instead, their red plan is low carb. Or buy a good book - the South Beach one is very moderate and suitable for controlling insulin resistance. |

As long as your current diet is okay in terms of macros (eg you're not down the chippy every day), then just cut down on portion sizes. It's easier than retraining yourself to eat differently. |

Be careful of aspartame if you drink a lot of diet . It's thought that aspartame may make it more difficult for some people to lose weight.
Most brand name diet soft drinks contain aspartame.
Asda own brand diet drinks mostly use sucralose instead, as do some other supermarket own brands (but not those from Tesco).
It may not affect you but it's worth baring in mind. |

Slimming world don't do red and green any more, it's called extra easy instead. I've been with them for three weeks, there is nothing in the literature which mentions red or green. |

Suggest looking up ketogenic diet - low in carbs but allows more protein and fat and it is now even recommended by some (forward thinking) GPs.
You won't go hungry and weightloss is steady but you might have to go easy on caffeine. I agree with what has been said about artificial sweeteners - they might slow weight loss and might have some unkown long term side effects.
Good luck |

At the start of this year I was a size 14 and weighed 13 stone I'm now a size 10 and 10 stone. I lost it in 3 months.
What worked for me was minimising my carb, sugar and fat intake. Replacing things like cooking oil with coconut oil and eating clean (high protein lots of fresh fruit and veg as well as lean meat and lots of fish). I also started making smoothies and juices to up my vitamin intake. Healthy needn't be tasteless. So liven food up with spices and herbs to give it a great taste.
Hope this helps |

Just eat as clean as possible. Avoid anything in packets / jars etc as these will in general have higher sugar or fat content than if you made the food yourself. Buy fresh and cook as fresh as possible. Limit sugar intake to recommended levels or less. Make sure you burn more cals that you ingest. That should do it If you do it this way then you haven't had to follow any diet plans etc you've just changed your habits and lifestyle. It'll be easier to stick with in the long run. Once you've made homemade pizza and curry you'll never look back anyway |

Buy the green life and get stevia sweeteners for your tea/coffee. no sugar and no dodgy chemical sweeteners I use it since ive lost weight although you best check it out for the diabetes aspect to make sure it's ok x |

No they scrapped the red and green diets years ago
I go to slimming world I like the diet it's worked for me so far
I can't honestly say I'm never hungry but less so that other diets I've tried
you can also follow it online you don't need to pay weekly fees if money is an issue, I prefer going to class though as knowing somebody is going to see my weight every week helps me stick to it |

I once heard a specialist say that Curries and Chillies were good, because of their effect on the metabolism, they burn of more calories than they provide. Worth checking, especially if you like spicy grub. Another tip I got was, if you exercise in the morning, only eat and apple before hand, because you body will use it up in no time, and then start using up reserves ( mostly fat ), again check it out. Good luck to you mate. |

Don't crash diet.. never work long term
Change all your eating habits.. check fat salt etc content in foods.. smaller portions.. loads you can do
snacks are my downfall.. rice cakes, seeds nuts, fruit should always be in the house for them needy times |

Keep your portions smaller than they used to be.
Never ever stuff yourself. You should finish a meal feeling that you could have had another couple of bites.
Cut down on anything unhealthy (no need to list them as everyone knows: processed food, fried food, things that are basically made of flour and butter such as pastries and pies, soft drinks, alcohol, chips, candy etc).
And finally try not to eat after 6pm. You should go to bed feeling hungry. If you're absolutely desperate (because your stomach is not used to being empty) then drink water or sugarless infusions (eg camomile tea).
There is no other way to do it. You must consume fewer calories than those needed for your daily activity in order to lose weight and this means eating differently and eating less. |

Good Luck! I've been doing a low carb diet and walking every morning for the last few weeks and it seems to be working for me. I have lost much weight yet but can already see a difference in my waist line; in fact, I bought a size smaller jeans last weekend
My hubby, Buddha, has been doing low carb for a few months now and has lost over 30 pounds...and he didn't even give up beer! |

I've lost over 7 stone on slimming world and I always have my evening meal after 10 pm when I get home
they told me so long as stick to your daily allowance you can eat when you like
I'm my experience if you go to bed hungry your going to wake up starving and a bowl of cereal just will not cut it
if I'm hungry I eat I just eat different things than what I used to before I lost weight
to me weight loss is just basic maths, you burn more out than you put in, if I have eaten all I'm allowed for the day and in the evening I'm hungry I just get the tread mill out for half hour, have a run then have a light meals, it works for me |

And weight watchers will not re-educate your body to get off sugar....nearly all their own brand low fat stuff is still laden with sugar!! |
