Are we the only ones who find it cringe worthy when people use pets in written messages in the context that 'the ..... loves it ' or ' me and the ...... agree that this is the way ' .
It just seems that by continually speaking on behalf of an animal that can't speak in every instance is a bit weird .
Are people that do this a bit fragile ?
Or is it just us that find it odd ?

I'm not sure what you mean... my cat loves a brush and I can tell you that cause of her reaction as soon as she sees the brush but I couldn't really speak on her behalf cause she hasn't actually told me she loves a brush.  |

Depends on context I think. If it's talking about something pet related, it's fine, but talking about non-pet related matters (especially sex!) nope, not for me! Hints at beastiality, just no. |

Depends what it is they are doing. If someone said me and the cat love making cup cakes,I'd be a bit worried about the person. Sharing a bag of cheese and onion walkers is something I often do with my dogs. Not sure I ever tell anyone though. Until now |

My pets speak to me. They don't use words but they communicate quite clearly regardless.
Granted we don't have deep philosophical debates but they are pedigree, bred for their temperament and looks, and don't have much beyond fluff between their ears. |

They like Felix Seaside Mix Goody Bag treats. I also have some Webbox cat yoghurt stuff that they like.
They also get Felix wet food from sachets every 2-3 days in addition to their usual dry diet.
And noisy face gets a little plaice when my parents are here on a Saturday for fish and chips.
They get treats quite sparingly though because they are prone to dodgy tummies. Upset tummies and long-haired cats are not a match made in heaven. |

In all seriousness... I'm trying to make light of it because I don't think it's big or clever to post thinly veiled or otherwise digs at people who are doing no harm on an open forum.
If you don't like the way someone posts then avoid their posts. My guess is that if this is aimed at one person then the only thing it's likely to do it hurt their feelings and there is absolutely no need to be so unkind.

goodness me what a kerfuffle. Hope your all having a splendid afternoon , the sun is beaming down here. North Wales in the sunshine , heaven.
I can imagine there are some things that can really get ones goat about certain posts in the forums. Some people stick their heads like ostriches in the earth . Others go in like a heard of elephants. Other parrot the same old rhetoric . some just follow like sheep.
I asked the Pooch what he thought , he just looked up from his copy of Homers Iliad and shrugged. His thesis on it has to be in by Friday.
Guys its all fun and no I don't feel this thread was aimed at one forumite , I am sure know one in the forums would be so given to upset any one . It was a jolly valid question .

If there's an instance of an ever reoccurring irritation and one person who evokes it is gonna make you all think this a thinly veiled dig at this person alone then so be it .
But in reality working in retail it's an ever more irksome trait . Particularly middle aged women who insist on bringing their darling dogs into the shop and speaking for them in every sentence .
