Is it the same things every time? Are they particularly memory hungry or CPU hungry applications or processes? Could the laptop be overheating? (It's fairly common in warm weather). Is there anything in the event logs to indicate a problem? Do you have a lot running at the same time? Lots of applications have helper apps and update services and things that load at start-up. Unless they are regularly pruned and unnecessary ones removed, they can slow down computers. Is it caused by something else running, such as an anti-virus update or scan?

Does Chrome need updating? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? Do you have similar problems with a different browser? Have you got a lot of extensions installed for chrome? Try disabling them and see if that helps. If it does, re-enable them one at a time to see if one is causing a problem.

You might need to create a new account as that will make it normal. It hapend on mine where nothing happened when you clicked on icons. New acount will fix it.

Central

Facebook games are usually Flash based, which can be massive PC resource hogs. Chrome is notorious for not having much control over how much resource it allocates to flash games. Flash is somewhat integrated within chrome - not needing a separate download.

I'd try a different browser for playing facebook games. Internet explorer or Opera may be superior - I'm not sure if Firefox supports flash anymore.

Minimizing the window, by using one of the tabs top right in the browser, does free up resources temporarily - until it's enlarged again.

Is it overheating maybe? That's what used to slow down everything on my laptop.

That's storage rather than memory, it's the difference between what you're thinking about right now and what you've got in your pockets..

How old is your laptop?

Most common thing I find is people installing more than one antivirus. Thinking it's like doubling up but they can cell each other out and hello malware
