It was on the news. She had a apple fone and if someone is near they got an option to send pics and she got send a penis pic on the tube. She was upset and reported it to the police.
They will make it a law against it now.
What you recon? He pressed to send to anyone and not to contacts. I think she did the right thing. |

I can't see much difference to a guy flashing in person - an unsolicited sexual message is wholly inappropriate and she was right to complain. The same would be true of course if anyone sent sexually explicit messages (men, women or couples) not limited to just men. |

Think that law is about "revenge" porn. Setting between partners/friends is ok. Must be with consent and must be yourself etc....or I reckon lots on here in trouble? |

oh forgot to add if you get burgled they are wanting you to txt send pics if its minor and the police have limited resource chasing the story of the day
this should firmly be put on apple to block sending pics to random people , simples |

Find and prosecute the guy.
Investigate how the fuck it was possible in the first place. These companies should be held accountable for their dumb ideas. |

This, really.
Companies get away with this nonsense while regular people get prosecuted (not saying regular people who do illegal things shouldn't be prosecuted). Companies need to start being held accountable.

Leaving aside the rights & wrongs of sending unsolicited images lets have a dose of individual responsibility.
This image was sent using Airdrop which if you're not a Mac/Iphone/Ipad user is a mix of wifi & bluetooth that allows you to send images/files over short distances to other Airdrop devices.
By Default you can only send /receive to people in your contact list.
As a user you have to choose to allow Airdrop to receive anything from everyone.
Also the womans phone was called(via settings) something like " Lorraines iPhone" (I think it was) which could help identify her as a woman.
Errrm again individual responsibility, call your phone something random & non gender specific (all my computer/gadgets are named after birds of prey for example) |

Remember when Bluetooth first came in, I had the option to accept any incoming Bluetooth multimedia things without approving the connection. Used to get lots of weird and wonderful things sent to me, ringtones, videos, pictures! |

Pretty sure you can get children called Lorraine. Just because she identified her phone as belonging to a female and changed her settings makes it OK? |

I vever said it was ok to do but people need to take some self responsibility and not expect to be nannied 24/7.
By default this feature is limited to your contacts
By default the phone name is something like iPhone.
Someone has to change these, if it's a kid then the parents need to educate them on sensible ways to do it.

Or maybe more education needs to be focused on the weirdos that get their kicks sending explicit pictures to a phone that could have belonged to a child. |

Forget what choice the sender has, the receiving phone by default can only accept from contacts.
At some point this woman has changed that setting. |

iPhones use airdrop to send pics, documents, etc. to any nearby iPhones. But the receiver would have had to turn on their airdrop to receive.
Still not good though to be sent an unsolicited pic. Hope he gets caught! |

She had chaher airdrop settings from 'friends only' to 'anyone', meaning she was open to being sent stuff from anyone.
She didn't accept the pic, so police have no evidence.
In the past, people used to contact you via Bluetooth on trains - I've had it. |

maybe what's needed is the electronic equivalent of Pampas Grass(tongue in cheek there).
If you see phone name starting with FSPICME (for example) then you're up for being sent anything ;o)
