Only seen the remake, didn't even know there was an original!
The remake with Daniel Radcliffe is pretty scary to say it's rated 12 |

The original one was a bbc screen play well worth the look i think you might be able to find it on you tube. |

Also, the theatre "Woman in Black" scared me and left a lasting impression. Watched the new film while I was pregnant. I was eating a forkful of pineapple, one bit scared me so much I dropped my fork, bit my husband's fist while still screaming and have had problems with my jaw ever since. That was three years ago! |

I love Horror/Thriller/Gory films but I absolutely refuse to watch Human Centipede!
I'm really trying to think of a film that freaked me out. The Ring could be a close one.. |

"When I was a kid it was Salem's Lot and the original Texas chainsaw massacre.
Texas Chainsaw is the best! "
You don't see that much gory action really, leaves more to the imagination unlike the new Texas chainsaw films which I think is more freaky. Plus the low budget look and feel of the original made it more scary than the newer ones. |

Not many horrors freak me out. I love horror films. I'm a bit of freak I know but I like being scared its exciting. Can't think of any in particular that really freaked me out. Wolf Creek did give me the shivers because its apparently based on true events.
The grudge freaks Mr L out. I have been known to take the piss out of him for this.
Anyone recommend any good psychological horrors for me ?

The butterfly effect freaked me out, as did jaws and dog soldiers, I've rewatched those and gotten over it somewhat (except swimming still sometimes gives me mild panic, especially the sea) but the murder scene of the main characters friend in color of night or whatever it's called with Bruce Willis still gives me nightmares as it was quite brutal. Great sex scenes though |

"When I was a kid, JAWS scared me sooo much. Was even to scared to sit on the toilet "
I wouldn't get in the bath, after Jaws...I thought he'd come up through, the plug hole
Stepford Wives, is the first sinister movie, that comes to my mind. |

I was the same! Wouldn't go in a swimming pool incase he broke through the walls.
I used to imagine a shark fin traveling along the side of my bed. |

When I first saw Alien at the Cinema. It had been built up in the media campaign and the fact that you didn't actually see the thing in its entirety until it was ejected at the end was a stroke of genius. I will never sign up for a deep space mission again. |

"Big.....I'm still looking for that bloody Zoltar machine "
I used to rent out, BIG, on VHS and TOYs with Richard Pryor. FOR 50p each, for the full weekend...Anyone who's post VHS, ask your parents
Another sinister one, would have to be, The Hills Have Eyes. I'd not want to meet any of those people, let alone on a dark night. |

The Shinning would top my list of psychological horror, but I'm guessing you'll have seen it.
If you want a really odd film, try Sucker Punched - not scary, just.....odd! |

the most messed up part is that they actually had to create those torture devices, and the actors actually had to be in there for multiple takes... my ex made me watch the behind the scenes stuff on youtube |

The exorcist. It was the first and last time a movie made me really frightened (when I was about 9).
Then I gave up on Catholicism and now the movie bores me.

I don't watch films likely to freak me out. I'm enough of a tense, stress bunny anyway without watching scary, psychological stuff.
My imagination is too good to give it those sorts of ideas.
I haven't watched a horror film in years.
I still have the heebie jeebies about Bob in Twin Peaks - him at the end of the bed, beyond the footboard - and how many years ago was that shown now? |

M here. Has to be a ten year old me, and Steven kings it. Freaked the Fuck out of me. it was the first film to ever truly scare me. That bit where the kid comes out of the tunnel after seeing him and his hair had turned white. Urghh I get shivers just thinking about it haha |

I used to love supernatural horror films but since I've lived on my own I can't watch them! DVD man gave me a film one night called case 39 and I watched it and couldn't sleep for weeks after it, it mentioned things like demons feed off your emotions so if you feel scared or anything it gives them more power! Had to sleep with my telly on and 24 hour news for a good 2 weeks! |
