Have you ever watched a movie that scared you as a kid?
I'm sure everyone has had a movie that terrified them as a kid and didn't watch it until they were older or maybe never got over the fear.
For example, I couldn't watch Ghostbusters 2 as a kid. As much as I love Ghostbusters, I could not watch this one mainly because of the painting of Vigo the Carpathian. It was just that evil looking stare that was unsettling but when his face protruded from the painting earlier in the film, that was it, I didn't want to watch it anymore. I did watch it again many years later when I was a teenager and have loved the movie ever since.
Feel free to share what was the movie that had you hiding behind the settee. |

Poltiguist.. I was the age the little girl was at the time and looked a lot like her.. Similar name too... Was convinced something would happen if the TV wasn't tuned in (snow affect)
Yet now have a slight obsession with the paranormal |

They say there was a curse with people who worked on the film |

The exorcist, Texas chainsaw massacre, the entity, Damian omen. They're probably the ones that scared me most. Oh and pet cemetery, the list goes on. I'm such a soft arse. |

"Hell raiser "
My mum got me that on video when I was a kid..went away with primary school and came back to it on video as a welcome back present.
I was allowed to watch horrors and whatever from pretty much any age so as a result they never bothered me to watch..
Never seen a film that scared me because of it |

Yes 4 of the cast later died. . Which led to the rumours of a curse |

An old movie called 'Night of the Demon.' To escape being caught by said demon, you had to pass a piece of paper with symbols on it to someone else. The demon would kill them instead of you. Creeped me out for ages. |

Fuck yeah, I am 100% with you.
I have this film on dvd searched high and low.
Special effects are dire. But the premises of the film is scary as hell, very atmospheric.
Think they partially knicked some of the idea to make drag me to hell.
Which was shit. |

Small Sacrifices a late 80s TV movie starring Farrah Fawcett. It's based on a true story about a mother who shoots dead a couple of her kids. Scared the shit out of me and gave me nightmares after watching it |

used to pester my mum to let me stay up late in the early 70's on a Friday night to watch the hammer horror films, only 1 scared the living daylights out of me and i think it was called 'Night of the demon'..
even think Kate Bush did a bit about it in the song hounds of love.. |

The moments in the Indiana Jones trilogy scared me as a kid. Mainly the opening of the Ark in Raiders and Donovan drinking the wrong grail in Crusade. Whenever them scenes came up, I basically walked out of the room until it was over. |
