Anyone else use it and suffer poor download speeds?

A speed checker says I'm at 0.5 meg! Anything I can do?

What speed do you pay for in your broadband package?

Hard to say OP, so many factors impact your download speed. I'm sure you've complained?

Could be loads, connect using a cable and see if speed increases ,

If it does , go into router cuttings and change your channel settings

Also could be walls interfering or cordless phones

I can get 90 meg download in same room as router and about 40 in bathroom

There's plenty on increasing speeds "duck duck go" is your friend

Pay for up to 8 meg! There's the catch UP To. Tried connecting direct but it's marginally better. Just been looking on other forums and it looks like post office is a poor provider. Router cuttings and channel settings? I don't know what that is but I'll look into it. Thank you all for your help

Ps out here in rural worcestershire it's pretty limited who I can go with.

Check out a site called samknows. If I remember rightly, it will tell you what the maximum speed is for where you are.

Central

Duckduckgo is a search engine that doesn't track you and your searches. It's one of a small number that you can use this way, instead of the likes of google.

As for broadband - get them to confirm what you should be getting and work with you to improve it. Their sales stuff should predict your speed and not just predict up to 8 etc.

Duck duck go takes a bit of getting used to but when you master it its very good

Google top results are usually paid key words

UK police do get your google search history if your charged with an offence

A recent case of someone charged with murder was convicted because he searched how to get away with murder on Google

Check what BT say you should get, it's all their equipment from line to OLO site, then they rent out
