I've been revisiting their old albums recently and wondered what everyone's thoughts on them are.. Best thing ever, spawn of Satan or somewhere in between?
IMO they come out with the odd dodgy song but plenty of classics too.. And seem like decent chaps too, witness the Game of Thrones Musical for charity, or Chris Martin on Extras.
Take it away.. |

Like watching your kids in a school play... You supposed to like it out of duty. People judge them as cool.... Ergo say they're good... Personally I Never clap a school play... Mediocrity can't be tolerated. If they were singing in my back garden I would go to the pub (a mile away) |

"Coldplay fans are a hard limit, some of the most dull and uninspired music ever recorded"
I also like metal, classical, some rap, rock.. So don't think people can be judged purely on liking Coldplay |

Very much into them!
The later stuff was a bit manufactured for me, but Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood are timeless albums people will look back on in years to come! Politik is a belter of a song.
I always found it funny that people jumped on the whole "Coldplay are Depressing" bandwagon and become judgmental. I can go from listening to Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Armin Van Buuren and to System of a Down in one day. If you can appreciate music whatever form it is, you're onto a winner. And to coin a phrase, "Hater's Always Gonna Hate".
Although, You can shove Ed Sheeran well and truly up your crusty Bumholes... The Horrible Whiny Annoying Melt of a Twunt he is |

I do a great rendition of 'Yellow" on the Singstar karaoke
Coldplay appear in general to be one of those bands that are not cool to like ~ As I don't subscribe to that crap I think they have produced some great songs.
Yellow & Fix You are beautiful, Clocks is a great choon too! |

Dreary 'dad' music. Dislike Chris Martin as he comes across incredibly pretentious/pompous yet dull.
Did love the Game of Thrones musical though. |

I only have Viva la VIda, surprise there, some of their early stuff was a bit samey for me, Chris Martin even said that in an interview, he seems a nice chap though, my little boy plays it a lot, he is very picky so it`s lucky to make the grade, he likes `Yes` the best, think I do to. |

Done some nice nice stuff,i really enjoy listening to them but i see here on Fabs quite a few pseudo types are well into themselves and do not accept people have different tastes and try to put them down....but that is their loss!. |

Having seen a fair few bands & artists live I can safely say that watching Coldplay at the Etihad in Manchester was simply the best gig I have ever witnessed and that night will live with me until the day I die.
It still gives me goosebumps to this day thinking of it and even more so if I watch parts of the concert on YouTube from different perspectives. Beyoncé dancing 10 yards from us was a pretty cool end to a great night. |

Obviously very good at what they do, wildly successful, but not particularly inspiring for me.
As in line with a lot of bands, prefer the earlier stuff I think. |
