Hi folks, I'm thinking of getting away on the bike before the end of bike season. I've heard about amazing routes in North Wales, any recommendations will be much appreciated. No dates just yet, I want to get the plan in motion. Whether your a biker or not, any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you |

We have some great roads here in North Wales recommend the A5 from Llangollen to betws y coed then head to Porthmadog then to Ffestiniog then to Bala and back to Llangollen. Just watch out for the police as then do a lot of speed traps but the twisty roads soon put a smile on your face. |

Over the moors between Denbigh and betwesycoed is nice too. Stop by Sams cafe oposite a&d motorcycles in Denbigh always a bunch of local bikers hanging out there with good routes
A5 is lovely but there's large sections where you can get bogged down in traffic or following some teat in a camper van doing 25 everywhere |

One of my regular rides
Starting form the Ponderosa on the Horseshoe Pass Head towards Bala
As you come into Bala turn left and take the B road around the back of the lake, if you time it right you get to see the Steam train.
Pick back up on the A494 towards Dolgellau
Just after Dolgellau look out for the signs for Penmaenpool, this take you into Barmouth via an old wooden toll bridge (good photo opportunity).
Carry on into Barmouth for Fish & Chips
Coming out of Barmouth you can either follow the coast Through Harlech or come up the A 470. either way head towards Trawsfynydd
Pick up the A4212 towards Bala then keep an eye out for the turn towardsFfestiniog
At the first house on left (which is also a little cafe) turn right towards Ysbyty Ifan
Turn right back on the A5 before swinging left up towards Ruthin and then loop back towards the Ponderosa |

BTW the Ponderosa does B&B form £35 per person per night |

A few of us used to go camping at Abersoch most Bank Holidays in the 80's. We used to sling all our gear & tents in someone's car and set him off a couple of hours before we left. We usually stopped at Bala for a pint & some chips then headed off up the A4212 |
