I'm lucky to have a really warm house and very rarely put my heating on - sitting here in vest and jammie bottoms with a window open......

This time last yr i was unemployed, with failed windows & draughty doors - couldn't afford the heating so suffered!

This year i'm working, have a new boiler & lovely, draught-free windows & doors

Been out cycling on the moors today, was a bit nippy but not too bad - usually i'm riding off-road at night in these temperatures but had a day off work today.

Sometimes we do take heating for granted, but when its gone, we dont half realise just how important it is to not feel cold. I remember when I was a wee lass, my dad was a coal miner and we had coal fires. I used to get my clothes ready the night before and put them on my bed and then get dressed under the covers. It was freezing upstairs but boiling downstairs.

Now I always have the heating turned up, I never put extra clothing on, I want to be toasty warm all the time in every single room

definitely. I don't drive so ride my motorcycle all year round. Never used to even use thermals but have bought a heated gerbing jacket this year to keep warm. Am too old for cold now.

It's interesting that most of the posts are from members who live south of the mince'n'tatties line.

Its very cold out there. I have been out on the roads all evening and the temperature outside was as low as -3 at one point. Very cold for this time of year.

Nope - I'm 50 next April and I still wear shorts all year round. Only time I wear long trousers is if I'm in some kind of a formal occasion, otherwise it's shorts and a T Shirt.

Love the cold

It all depends on your own insulation.

Get a party going and your buddy heat will be nuclear.

enjoy the festive season with a bang.
