is going to play Jack Reagan in a new Sweeney film.
He was a guest on Talksport today. He said the script is brilliant and when he was offered the job, he had to accept it, but said he hopes he will be able to do the part justice, as John Thaw was one of his favourite actors, and as far as everyone is concerned, John was Jack Reagan.
It will be set in modern times and and should be out late next year hopefully.
Now John Thaw was one of my all time favourite actors, and the Sweeney one of my favourite shows, but if anyone can do justice to the role, then surely it must be Ray Winstone.
Can't wait |

He wouldn't give anything away in the inter_iew other than he's got the job, he wouldn't say who his co stars are going to be or any indication of the plot line |

Ray is a great actor but don't you think he's a bit old for the part.
After all, Regan was only in his 30's and always chasing young "birds".
Also setting it in modern times will mean the Sweeny has their hands tied as regards beating a confession out of the SLAAAAAAGS they've nicked bang to rights.
These days he'll be giving them counselling and a caution instead. R
