Well I've taught 10 years old sex education for a few years as part of my job and trust me they know it all , even at that age!!! |

I think she is great. Its about time we become more open and factual about sex and relationships.
I am very open with my children and they know they can ask me or talk to me about anything. Why shouldn't humans know about their own bodies.

It's eye opening, and like others have said, the influence of porn there is so strong.
Sad that the females didn't really know their bodies well - the teacher compared them to her Belgian students, where she believes they'd all know their bodies perfectly. |

Agree in sex ed. But these kids think its normal for a woman to be totally shaved, think its normal to cum over a girls face, and its right that she should swallow out of respect.

I am genuinely shocked how little these kids know about their bodies! It's quite scary and I suppose (this is my opinion) it has some correlation towards things like teenage pregnacy and sexual assault of people.
If it goes from experimentation and exploration to a little more that doesn't end well?
I think the lads are taking it better than the girls even if they are typically giggly and juvenile about it. |

It's a refreshing program, when I was a kid, sex ed consisted of periods, pubes and putting on a condom. Nothing else. The teachers were more embarrassed than the pupils.
My parents tried to be as open and approachable as they could with me and now with my own kids I am always here to answer questions and talk to. I've often used books to help with things that I wasn't sure how to explain in an age appropriate way, and found recently that I was actually doing alright with approaching subjects.

My secondary school was a girls school but it was in Hackney in the 70s. My primary school took part in a longitudinal study to give age appropriate sex education from age 6. When I got to secondary school I couldn't quite grasp that so many of the girls didn't know their own anatomy.
We had a teacher who told us about The Little Red Book. It wasn't something we could have at school (or from the school) but it covered that element of being frank about a range of things, including being gay.

It is shocking. It does make me worry for my own children too. Hopefully they have taken in all the pep talks and life lessons I have drummed in to them. My hope is that they know that they have control over their own bodies and never have to do anything they are not comfortable with.

I received no sex education at all, except being told it was a cardinal sin before marriage. In fact I was told on numerous occasions it was one of the seven deadly sins to lust after a girl, never mind doing anything about said lust

I know they have to learn this but what saddens me is where has all the innocence gone it is such a shame yes young people need to be aware of underage sex and teenage pregnancies and stds etc but I wish kids were able to be kids for a little while longer before they have to grow up. Kids have always matured at different rates. I was sexually aware (but absolutely not active) as early as 9.
Music videos alone mean that we can't just assume they know nothing and are unaware.

Ive just watched the programme and totally agree with the lady running the classes. The boys learnt a lot about sex and how to respect a woman. The girls learnt how to speak up for what they want from men too.
As others have said, this should be in all schools throughout the country and before they are teenagers too. Wish they had this when I was at school, we didnt even have lessons on how to put a condom on, I will admit that Ive never put one on a man and would not know how to either. |

My sex education at school consisted of one lesson where the girls and boys where split, the girls had their lesson on periods, I sat embarrassed through it all as I was the only one who had started.
However, I was always very sexually mature and soon started practicing 
Teaching these things in schools is brilliant but I still think the parents should be the main source.
My sons sex education started the moment he started to ask questions.
I taught him about respect, relationships, emotions, I taught him all about the female body and any girls emotions change.
Think I did an OK job.
Funniest thing he did though, when he was 12 he took to wearing two pairs of pants to bed, when I asked why he said in case his sperm came in during the night |

It needn't be said, but your thinking is totally backwards.
In response to the fact that many parents aren't taking responsibility for their children's sex education, your answer is 'the parents should take responsibility!'
That is merely reiterating the problem, not providing a solution. An actual solution would be to teach parents how to teach their children about sex. However, that is a step further down the line than what's immediately needed, so it makes sense to teach the children directly first, in an environment that is already conducive to learning.
Like...a classroom.

It needn't be said, but your thinking is totally backwards.
In response to the fact that many parents aren't taking responsibility for their children's sex education, your answer is 'the parents should take responsibility!'
That is merely reiterating the problem, not providing a solution. An actual solution would be to teach parents how to teach their children about sex. However, that is a step further down the line than what's immediately needed, so it makes sense to teach the children directly first, in an environment that is already conducive to learning.
Like...a classroom.

"If this were taking place on line, it would be called grooming. I find it tragic and really quite grim. Self discovery is quite underrated. Rather than empowering, this strikes me as deliberate moulding of impressionable minds. The head teacher is a typically vacuous example of our rotten educational system. The Belgian women is dangerous. Children should be spared her stilted interventions.
So addressing the issue that children and young people are getting their self discovery on line through the most extreme examples of sexual practice, where women are often presented as mere receptacles for male penetration and deposits (as long as they denude themselves of pubic hair, make themselves up and open every orifice) is healthier than teaching them about their bodies, respecting each other and themselves?

I agree that that some parents are incapable of teaching their kids sex education or anything else really.
