Talk to your GP, they can book you in or forward you to physiotherapy as well as prescribe medication.
At physio you can learn exercises to strengthen the muscles, I've been doing minerals for about a week and they definitely help. |

Don't ask for advice if you're just going to ignore it anyway... |

Is it the same everywhere in Basildon? I only ask as Mr and I have different doctors and the appointment and referral systems vary massively .... best bet is to find someone to give you a massage. I get one almost every night, as my feet get very sore and dry and its the only way to get the cream in. Heat patches or anything? |

"not ignoring it mate, just not going to go down the route of seeing my (worse than) useless GP, was thinking of maybe private sports therapist?

By dismissing it and saying you'll just go to bed would count as ignoring it.
You can refer yourself for physiotherapy nowadays but if your GP is really that bad then change them, even if your travel time is increased it's worth it. |

"Stretching your back is dangerous because it requires you to be on all fours on the bed. Mr tried it last night at about ten pm. We did not get to sleep until 2 am because of what followed ...."
That's the way to do it! |

"if only it was that simple to do
Stretch ...... arghh ... lay back down! "
Hot bath will warm your muscles/bones.
But yeah, simple stretching like hanging off. Say a door frame.
Or stretch lower back by lying on floor + try gets legs up + over - keeping your legs/hamstring straight. Works well

Check whether physio is self-referral with the practice receptionist on the phone. It is at my practice - you just pick up a form.

How much is it for a session?

Free NHS physio. The referral form goes to the physio team at the local clinic and they do the assessment and decide whether to treat or not.
You could also try the British School of Osteopathy in Borough, they will give reduced rate treatments as you will be treated by someone still going through their training.
Personally, I stretch through the pain to keep things moving, even if it's just getting to the floor to lay flat for a while.
Depending what is wrong cold packs might work better than heat packs on the area.

"A decent massage!
Chronic back pain, feels like both kidneys
any recommendations of what I can do to ease the pain?
"
You need to get your urine checked out if it feels like kidney pain,if it's a kidney infection no amount of ignoring it will make it go away |

Had a nice relaxing massage thanks to my dear sister (a qualified masseuse) and now things are starting to feel a little better
She thinks it felt like a trapped muscle?
Off to bed now for a good night's sleep!
