little house on the praire

What lucky near misses have you had or seen. About 4 years ago my ariel (the old big metal ones) fell of my roof and went straight through next doors side car window. Thank god it was midnight when it happened if it had been in the day it could of killed someone. Also when my son was about 6 he decided to come in my bedroom in the middle of the night, climb out the bedroom window and sit on the ledge a neighbour tried to wake me but i was dead to the world, the first i knew about it was a policeman climing through my bedroom window

North of The Wall - youll need your vest

Tarpaulin blowing off the wagon in front of me whilst in the outside lane on the M6 at rush hour. Blew 3 tyres when I hit it...

Trailer became unhooked from the car in front of me. I was quite far behind and managed to stop no problem but the trailer bounced a few times and came to a stop about a foot from the front of my car...

Attempted carjacking in the middle of nowhere in Africa....

Gets the pulse racing just a bit

CANNOCK

While having an afternoon of fun with a Married FB at her home husband came home early.

She dived into the show (told me later) she explained to him she was planning to go to WI meeting

Fortunately they live in a Bungalow backing on to wood land so I left through the patio doors running down the carrying my all my cloths

Now we meet either at cams or a hotel

Dangerous things motorbikes. My ex had one & kept it in a large shed in the garden. He got it up the ramp and instead of doing the brake he did the accelerator. There was a twat shaped hole in the other side of the shed, he carreered across the garden, took out the pergola with the clematis on it & stopped just short of the patio windows. Very dangerous

Coming down the M5 in hubbies Audi when a car towing a caravan flipped on the near side lane about 50 yards in front of us.....we missed the back of the caravan by less than a foot or two, fortunately he had his wits about him....and was driving a good car.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Jump starting a car in my youth, I managed to get myself holding both red and black clips in one hand. Luckily I only had pretend heart failure when the sparks started flying....

Doing 70-odd mph in the middle of the night on an unlit road, came round a bend and there was a deer standing in the middle of my side of the road. I stopped, but only just, and the damn thing never so much as blinked. I was ordering venison for a month in revenge...

Our last Fishing boat capsized and sank, very quickly in September 2008, me and my dad were both in the water in seconds, by the Grace of God, a passing boat seen it happen, called out the lifeboat, and then he got us both out of the water!

What a lovely chap he was.

I got hit by a motorbike when I was on a horse. Very lucky that everyone survived, although the horse was badly injured, it was a flesh wound, no broken bones.

I've never had an accident, broken a bone or spent a night in hospital. I've led a charmed life and long may it continue.

Fekinell which one do i choose??

Well i guess getting stabbed in the middle of my back. breaking 2 ribs and puncturing a lung could be near the top. I would say a parachute jump in Scandinavia when my chute didn't deploy properly would win for me. My bum was darker than Ahabs for 6 weeks. There and a gain there was the willy muncher on here!...(shudders)

little house on the praire

Whoops i forgot my best one. I was set on fire and badly burnt. Someone was lighting a bbq with a petrol can and it caught fire, they threw it and it hit me and my clothes went up in flames. All i can remember was them screaching at me to get my clothes off. I managed to get my skirt over my head, thankfully that saved my face but i had really bad burns all over my body, and no hair. I had blisters on my legs the size of balloons and i was bandaged for six weeks and looked like a mummy. Not sure how but all my scars dissappeared within a year. The only one you can see is down the front of my leg when its cold.

I was on the front of the local paper, but what made it worse was my stepdad was one of the fireman that come to put the fire out as the garden was on fire as well

had a near one earlier this evening.... walking along to the shop, car skidded, went straight across the road, smashed down a garden wall, careered across the other side of road and flipped. driver and passenger walked away unhurt (thankfully). When they hit the wall, I was less than 10ft before it!!!

Hmm if i was to post my near misses i'd be typing all night.

As for above post by wishynsiren, well a neighbour i had in ireland said to me when i was proudly displaying another broken bone when i was 17(A&E staff all knew me by my first name!), "how the hell do you manage to break so many bones and also walk away from almost death experiences though with barely a scratch, and yet im in my late thirties and havent managed to break one bone in my body."

The next day however he ate his words. He was walking along side a forklift hold bags on the forks as they were almost falling off. The front wheel run over his foot and crushed every bone in his foot! oops. He blamed me saying i put a jinx on him. i remind him about it to this day. He still cannot see the funny side as the sight of me reminds him of the pain. Haha.
