"is tor any good as a day to day web browser"

Haven't used it for a while, but unless it's changed - the way it works is it

- uploads and downloads from your pic/ip.

Normal browsers just download, so was a bit slow + if you have a data limit...you may run out faster.

Well, data packets are going in 2 directions. The stuff u download + the stuff tor uploads. All counts on your data total doesn't it?

It's not a peer to peer browser, and they re-route packets - which is what gives you the security cos no-one really knows where the packets are coming from/going to.

If you use a packet sniffer, it would show one source of data packets coming in but a shit load going out.

Tor wouldn't be anonymous as a day to day browser. Every time you send an email, watch a video or use java script you give away your ip.

Central

Toes ok, just research how to avoid relinquishing your anonymity through your browsing behavior. You'll notice its slower if you're used to faster browsing.

Yeah.

I use cyber ghost- it's not too bad , but you get kicked off after 2 hours + have to reconnect. But it's free.

Depends what you want it for - if security is more important than speed. You'd prob use tor+ a vpn. Plus an encrypted email , but from what I've seen of free encrypted email, it seems to encrypt your actual drive. Mind you that's encrypted internet email , dunno about outlook etc.

So I didn't bother with that.

If you plan on using tor for its true purpose then it's one of a kind... but if you just want to use it as just a browser it's not so bad, just slow.

Ide just stick with a VPN if your not browsing DW. It will be faster.
