...but....

why are there some many people on here that seem to have genuine split personality disorder?

I'm not trying to offend anyone but there's people on here that go out of their way to speak to you and then blatantly delete your messages after a good few hours or maybe days chatting.

if you aren't interested in somebody then it is not hard to say so.

I'm almost certain now that some people or on here for some sort of power kick and are straying away from the initial reasons for using a site such as this one

How does that behaviour mean they have such a disorder ?

Could be they formed a conclusion you weren't for them and to avoid awkward explanations, they just moved on. It's a quirky world in here but that makes it interesting.

They have genuine split personality disorder????? How on earth can you tell that from someone's messages.

Sounds more like they've lost interest.

Not nice to label people with a serious mental health issue

A more plausible explation Op is that they just don't want to meet you. But if it helps your ego by preferring to believe they have a mental illness then hey, it's a good job you didn't meet them isn't it, as they might have enjoyed your liver, with a little chianti of course.

Maybe they were just using you to get off? Then figured they didn't need to keep chatting.

The thing is you can get chatting to someone. Then all of a sudden they decide the alloted amount of time has past and there messages change to a tact you don't like... but they get stressy at you like you've led them on.

I'm not looking to meet ppl atm as I have a fb. I always tell ppl that but they think they can persuade you cause there or hot or whatever....

It takes someone pretty special to change my mind

Or maybe they just decided they didn't really want to fuck you. Swings and roundabouts.

It's still not cool to suggest that people have a mental illness just because they don't want to shag you.

I delete my entire inbox when I decide it's got too much in it. I generally save important mail. I wouldn't expect someone I'm chatting to to be offended by that. I just like a tidy inbox.

Or did you mean before it's been read? That's just plain rude. Complain to anyone who'll listen.

We delete messages, just to keep our inbox tidy. Is that classed as OCD?

when they're are the ones putting it on my toes first....then ignoring messages or one wording you.

hence split personality disorder.

i dont see the point in the first place... why isnt that understood?

Reply privately, Reply in forum +quote or View forums list

I think the point is, there's nothing to understand. People do what people do for all manner of reasons. You can't change that. Some behaviour is odd yes, but not worth too much reflection.

It is understood.

They're fishing.

The get a bite.

They reel it in.

Then like many fishermen (or fisherwomen! )....they throw it back and go home.

No split personality required.

Just someone to fall for it

the technical term is called losing interest, maybe the conversation bored them, maybe the conversation, who knows

They don't know how they'll feel about you until they've talked to you/made a move.

Have you ever made a move on someone, then thought "actually...no" ?

It's a change of mind, that's all.

If they were really ill you'd know from the tone/inappropriate words etc. That's something totally different to them becoming bored/choosing someone more suited to them or just plain losing interest

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I've lost count of the amount of times I have been having a friendly chat with someone, then they say something so there's just nothing further that can be said. its usually unexpected, nothing in their profile that states they have a particular interest, or so disgusting I just move on.

As said above, if its something that keeps happening, then maybe worth reviewing your messages to people to see what could have scared them off.

Isn't one of the issues the fact that people can misinterpret forum banter?

Most of the time it's probably just the rapport of the forum in general but some people might misread that as being personally interested in more so they send a PM.

Let's break it down

"why are there some many people on here that seem to have genuine split personality disorder?

I'm almost certain now that some people or on here for some sort of power kick and are straying away from the initial reasons for using a site such as this one"

Stupid I'll informed generalisation guaranteed to get a response from people who have experience of or not happy with the blatant link between choice and mental illness

"I'm not trying to offend anyone but there's people on here that go out of their way to speak to you and then blatantly delete your messages after a good few hours or maybe days chatting.

if you aren't interested in somebody then it is not hard to say so"

People change their mind and due to experience of belittling aggressive responses from many to wanting to end communication it is easier to delete block than explain themselves

Summary-respect their choices and move on

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

It is relatively easy to change ones mind, you don't even have to go into a changing room to do it.

If changing your mind is the definition of split personality disorder we're all doomed.
