I have a highly attuned sense of smell.
Smokers don't just smell of smoke, if they've been smokers for more than ten years.
It's a fetid, rotten smell.
Lots of people don't mind it, but it's not something I find sexy. |

I'm a smoker.
I like to think I'm quite a considerate smoker.
I often respond to messages from people who have approached me and remind them that they won't meet smokers.
We all have preferences. This is just another one of those. Your choice is your choice, neither of us are required to justify it. |

"
I do not smell fetid or rotten thanks very much!
How rude! "
I'm sorry. Most smokers are very conscientious. But I can still tell if someone is a smoker. It's a curse to have a sensitive nose.
It's just a personal preference. |

Not one of the gentleman I see regularly smoke, in fact their anti smoking.
I was chatting to one once with my back to him and he started to say the reason I TOLERATE you smoking, with that my head had spun round 180 degrees like an owl.
Anyway the nice short version of what I said to him was, you knew I was a smoker when you met me.

I'm a non-smoker and respect people's choices, I just find it unattractive and don't tend to meet smokers. No doubt in missing out on some lovely people though |

We all need something to lean on in times of stress, whether it's cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or chocolate!
It doesn't mean that smokers are a distinct demographic in any other way than the fact that they smoke.
No group contains better or worse people. |

I love smoking. I dont meet non smokers. I smoke where and when i want, including places with no smoking signs. If you are offended by my smoking , go ahead and be offended, fuck all will happen. I hope i die by a smoking related illness. To me thats far more preferable than being killed by a holier than thou non smoker driving around in a diesel car who takes their eye off the road to disapprovingly stare at people smoking outside a pub and side swipes me on my motorbike. |

I'm not offended by smoking but it makes me seriously ill. I avoid places where people are permitted to smoke because of this, so I appreciate it if people who do want to smoke don't do it in the places I should be able to go.
Expecting me to stay at home because some smokers feel they have a right to pollute the air with toxins anywhere they feel like, is just a tad unreasonable in my opinion. |

Cigarette smoke can (and has) put me in hospital. Yes, the smoke from one little "cig". I'd say that was a reason to be concerned about it and to be pissed off when selfish fuckers smoke in non-smoking areas because they feel they have some sort of right.
In a non-smoking area, it's my right to breathe air not filled with smoke. |

I don't find the sight of somebody smoking attractive, I don't find the smell or taste of it attractive, and I don't find a lack of consideration for health attractive.
I would occasionally meet a smoker - if they were the right person, if they were offering something I wanted, if they were willing to not smoke while they were with me... |

Yeah, hysterically funny to laugh about putting someone in hospital.

I. Am. Allergic. To. Tobacco. Smoke.
Is that really such a difficult concept?
People can be allergic to peanuts, tomatoes, bee stings and lord knows what else but you can't get your head around the possibility that someone could be allergic to smoke filled with toxic chemicals?
Is it me or is it hard of thinking day in here today? |

We smoke, if we were to meet nonsmokers I would hope we would be having a good time and not feel the urge to sneak off for a fag. If people don't want to meet us because we smoke then that is entirely up to them, I'm not going to bleat on about it. |

I smoke and vape (50/50) but have been told fairly regularly from pretty much everyone in a non-smoking office that I don't smell like a smoker, even when I smoke full time. I do of course smell immediately after a cigarette.
Don't care if people don't like it - that's their entirely their decision and I respect that and fully understand it as given the choice I would pick a non-smoker too. |

I work in a pub and yes im a smoker, while il admit that its nice not having smoke being blown over the bar all night it does highlight the amount of women who drown themselves in awful perfume for me and another barmaid we end up taking piriton, and iv had to do this on some meets where the other woman thinks we have to taste as well as smell her perfume. Also as all the non smokers got us nasty smokers out of the pubs why do they feel its ok to sit outside with us, is it because they have nobody to talk to??? |

"I work in a pub and yes im a smoker, while il admit that its nice not having smoke being blown over the bar all night it does highlight the amount of women who drown themselves in awful perfume for me and another barmaid we end up taking piriton, and iv had to do this on some meets where the other woman thinks we have to taste as well as smell her perfume. Also as all the non smokers got us nasty smokers out of the pubs why do they feel its ok to sit outside with us, is it because they have nobody to talk to???"
Partly, but mainly because thats where most of the interesting and fun people are |

Was in the pub trade most of my life loved it would do it all over again but due to the selfish smokers blowing smoke in my face for 40 years i have an enlarge heart 4 stents and bad lungs. Our last pub had a nice smoking area but 9 out of 10 smokers would rather stand in one of the entrances to the pub smoking than use it they would not give an inch when other people tried to get in.
They would come back in stinking of smoke |

Im sorry but if it was your pub you have the power as we do to make them use the smoking area and move from the doors and if the selfish smokers were making you so ill why stay in the trade, im sorry if you became ill but you were the one who stood there for 40 years not fair to blame the smokers |

Cigarettes can't actually cause an allergic reaction, since they lack any allergenic proteins that would trigger your immune system. However, that's not to say that cigarettes can't cause allergy-like symptoms. In fact, the irritants in cigarettes and cigarette smoke can cause symptoms that appear very similar to those of allergic rhinitis. If you're sensitive, you may end up with a runny nose, watery eyes, coughing, sneezing and trouble breathing, much as you would if you were allergic to dust and breathed it in. People can suffer allergic reactions to tobacco leaves and plants themselves, but these allergies are rare. When you burn tobacco in a cigarette, the chances of such an allergy affecting you are pretty much zero..... |

all im saying is since the smoking ban came in more and more smokers are being hounded and its bordering on a form of bullying. Had one customer shouting at me recently because there was smokers in the garden but didn't like it when i pointed out that the garden was for everyone and that his language was more offensive than the smoke! Where does it stop its already killed off half the pub trade because half the customers have to stand outside in winter! |

It's not the breath that gets to me cos most smokers are conscious of that and disguise it well....
It's the lingering taste on their skin, nipples and.... yes believe me...a woman's juices especially.
Anyone else taste that? |

Yes. It's a kind of sharp smell. On men too. |

If the same amount of energy was directed at our noxious pollution, as was at smoking, our world would be a better place. It's become too personal, with people opting for the easy target - that causes less damage - than have the guts to do something that would tackle the bigger problem. |
