Everyone has their 'comfort zone' of topics they actively discuss, and sometimes this leads to them getting stereotyped, and never really getting the chance to show just how deeply they can actually think about things and stretch their minds. This thread is a chance for people to show their knowledge on a number of unusual and varied topics.

I'll post a topic or idea, the next person has to write a few lines or a paragraph about their thoughts on it, then leaves a new topic for the next person, etc

I know nothing about this subject other than it must involve cars, a driver and a track. Oh and I can say it in Spanish.

I'm not really a sporty person, nor do I watch much sport. I would like netball to be an Olympic Sport. Why not? Most other things are

Parabens (probably not spelt correct) should we all stop wearing deodorant and sun cream as this is known to cause cancer.

On the subject of deodorant I know anyone who choses to exploit the claims of 48hr deodorant instead of washing is a manky twat.....

However my experience on the subject of manky twats is limited to anecdotal hearsay ....

Its a tough one, suppose is so much is linked to the causes of cancer that we would be extremely limited in our actions if we abided by them all,

Sun cream seems counter productive as without protection we expose ourselves to cancer

Guess case by case based on independent studies if you chose to use or avoid certain products

Whilst yer waiting for your train, have a ponder as to whether everything in life has to be a game.

There is no way I'd go without sun cream or deodorant. So I agree!

Train strike- I don't use trains or tubes that often, so it doesn't effect me. Pain in the arse for those that do! Is it always to do with pay and pensions?

Roller discos, I'd like more around.

If it's acceptable to shower naked in public, why not shave balls too

As a boy I lived to fall flat on my face in front of all my class mates and the girls I fancied. The roller discos where places where those who could skate embarrassed those of us who couldn't to the sounds of pop in the eighties.

Our youngsters need this experience so they may learn true humility lol.

ANECDOTAL HEARSAY :- I love anecdotes. Amusing little stories that people tell to lighten up conversations , bring a bit of humour into the day and even make apparent the irony and ludicrousness of daily events.

ANECDOTAL HEARSAY - passed of as fact ? Makes my blood boil. Makes me more wary of the believer than the believed. Stories passed off as truths ruin reputaions, start wars, misinform the masses. Why people don't see how illogical most of what they are told is beats me and yet they refuse to be self educating and will pass things on because 'so and so said it.'

I'm always coming up with ways I can explain possible theories of everything..

my current one is AI being the ultimate evolution of ourselves, and for the farthest futures possible.

I generally think people have taken for granted what technology has done for us, and is continuing to do..and especially how a lot of things may jump to a next level within decades.

I find some people dont see all the small advancements actually leading to something much bigger..such as the scientists who have teleported a photon already..

might be a small step..not so news worthy to some..

It's right that people should pick up their dogs poo. I find it one of the most depressing sights though seeing someone scooping up their dogs shite! As Frankie Boyle once said...the only thing worse than seeing a dog owner picking up dog shit is someone who doesn't own a dog picking up dog shit! It's right that people should be fined if they don't pick up their dogs mess. I just couldn't be doing with it myself!

What's your opinion on the death penalty?

I pick up my dog poop always! Frustrates me. When others don't! Yes there are fines in place, but I never see a dog warden walking around!

The Four Corners

love this thread

How about i tackle our purpose here... something that comes up quite a lot in my life, Logical deduction and connecting the dots makes it a fairly simple concept in my eyes.

Firstly we are all energy, if we understand this principle, its easy to see that all our emotions, feelings ,ideas etc are all bandwidths and frequencies that are a part of the whole.

If you imagine for a moment a massive binary code (1's and 0's) that represent all the frequencies that are possibilities in this reality, and then see that experiences hold lessons that in turn allow us to re remember each individual frequency, acknowledge it and then have the ability to turn that particular 0 on and off at will.

So in essence we are everything, and nothing all at the same time (fractal expression of the quantum).

If we are all energy, and we are working with energetic principles, then that means we are working towards our highest potential, the ability to recognize the fact we are indeed the world around us, and the world around us is indeed ourselves, we do this through perception.

So why don't we realize this already?

Well society in itself is an organism, but also a construct. The concepts of belief and faith are the only 'forces' that creates solidarity. Through placing your attention and the belief in what you are experiencing, you are shaping the world. so let me give an example,

''The Sky is blue.''

Well for a start the sky has never once stated or shown us it is the color blue, in fact through seeing blue it is actually every color but blue, but going back onto point, the term blue is a commonly agreed upon, term of inter-relation that allows us as a social species to relate to one another.

Whenever someone speaks out of the norm, society has taught us to think in a way in which stability is of paramount importance, which is understandable. When someone say's something out of the norm, we tend to find the need to want an explanation on such things, because we believe an explanation creates solidarity. If something isn't solid it isn't seen as a stable concept and so groups of people attack it in order to keep their own belief system secure, this in turn shows the instability in their own beliefs due to the threat that the 'out-of-the-norm' perspective offered.

Change and physical death are the only two constants in this reality, that's to say experience. The majority of us jump to conclusions of good and bad in order to label our experiences rather than looking at the frequencies it offers.

Example:

Facebook status: ''I stubbed my toe i'm having a really bad day.''

People are focusing on the duality of this situation the good and the bad, rather than looking at the experience and what it offers.

So instead you may well go well i wasn't looking where i was going, and i was in a rush, therefore i have the ability to be impatient. Here you have gained a frequency of yourself, whether it's seen as good and bad is irrelevant due the fact good and bad comes from a biased perception based upon previous experiences.

If my friend got killed by a fig... i could see a fig as a really bad thing, my belief is that it is bad. Someone else might really enjoy figs.. and they believe they are great.

Which is more viable than the other?...

neither, of course. Its just biased projections of previous experiences, and no way relate to the truth.

So what is the meaning of life in my perspective?

Life is the gaining of one's awareness, using the experiences we encounter as our allies in doing so, as such we inevitably want to reach our highest potentials.

I believe you cannot lose in this reality, every experience happens that's something new you've gained, and if you gain via the lessons they hold then all the better!

On a side-note i believe science is majorly flawed. It works on a level of fractality, but on other levels, biased projections have shaped the tests and experiments into something that fits the predicted curve, when in actuality, it has lost the majority of it's real shape. (Anomalies happen, why do we discount them? they are just as viable as other results. Also if oyu look at the double slits experiment the role of the observer, intention etc etc all play a massive part in the end results of an experiment, meaning all the science up until the point, where they factor these into the experiment, can't truly be relied upon.)

I could go on for ages and ages, i just hope i sparked some level of thought.

All the best

Fae.

Mr Far, you know it's Sunday don't you, S un day, I'am not religious but I'll take the rest day

Ecigs indoors, no not really they still produce a mass of smoke that others who chose not to indulge in are forced to,

If they are going to allow Ecigs then all cigs should he ok, plus there is not nearly enough legislation behind them to fully trust their contents

Supermarkets longer Sunday opening hours

It depends on how you look at it, personally I like the longer hours as it gives me more chances to shop during the day and is a greater convenience for me, but I can understand the frustration of staff who may wish to keep Sunday as a 'day of rest' and spend it with their families. Really though I think it's just a sign of the time and the world we live in, everything moves faster these days, and there's not really much of a 'weekend' anymore.

What is the best way to tackle religious intolerance in the world?

Help everyone to see the truth, then everything else falls apart, J. Krishnamurti is good for that.
