I'm extremely lucky to live by the sea! One of the two bays on Scarborough is literally five minutes away from my house

I was brought up in beverley, so a lot of my misspent teen years.. Where spent messing around, at Scarborough, Bridlington etc.. Love the east coast!

little house on the praire

Beautiful area, live next to Rutland water, small town everyone knows each other.

Bad points, they've built so much here last few years on the outskirts that I hardly recognise the old areas but it hasn't really affected what I now call the old town.

I also think we might be the only county in England with no MacDonald's, KFC, pizza but now that can only be good

carrbrook stalybridge

12 miles from the center of Manchester perched on the edge of the Peak District national park . Beautiful moors and valleys all stolid but easy access to a vibrant city perfect .

Bit of a crap hole where I live now, although I do live opposite a river.. I spend hours down there.

I actually class Liverpool as my home.. The best thing I'd say the people, and their sence of humour.

But then I've lived all over.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, sea views from all my windows n only a 45 second stroll away.

The beach is roughly 70-100 ft from my front door.

Manchester - the people are so friendly and the music scene is amazing.

Lincoln - great people and brilliant childhood memories. Surrounded by countryside for secluded dogging sites

Tickton - nice quiet village, loads of farmer friends for cheap meat and veggies. Loads of sex outdoors places

Without doubt being so close to the sea and having swaths of unspoilt countryside's right on our doorstep puts the shine on the otherwise unpolished turd that resulted from decades of underinvestment and piss-poor local administration .....

Close enough to London to be there in 25 minutes on the tube or 10 on the c2c. 30 minutes from a beach and a short drive into the countryside and farmland. Close to an airport. Not too built up. Short train ride to shopping malls and decent restaurants and bars. Smack bang in the middle of everything

I live in the centre of Edinburgh. It's awesome (apart from the tourists)

Kidding... it's a beautiful, vibrant city and has everything I need. I can walk to the beach in ten minutes from home. I'm not sure I could tell you my favourite thing about the city, I like most of it (except the trams) so it's hard to pinpoint one thing.

You should, it's a nice historical town.. Although last time I went it was getting pretty built up, spoiling it somewhat!!

It may have got some bad press in the past but it has been regenerated and the place to be now regarding sights, history, music and craic.

The people haven't changed though as we have always been friendly welcoming and hospitable - despite circumstances.

But I was born in the city, so the best thing would have been Heathrow or Gatwick!
