Fellow fabbers. Having been fortunate to have travelled a lot. I would like to gauge where in your experiences your most chilled out places In the world have been. For me, Sri Lanka, Goa, Koh Phangnan in Thailand and Bermuda are my shouts, any other shouts and why? |

Baja California (Mexico) and Sea of Cortez. Two weeks on a boat spotting whales, including the blue whale, landed on uninhabited islands home to the rattleless rattlesnake!, touched grey whales, anchored in a lagoon for the night and marvelled at a sky full of stars, a wonderful way to celebrate my 50th |

"Iceland. "
Driving across the interior of Iceland, I likened to being on the moon! fascinating though. Wonderful waterfalls, exciting geysers, fantastic scenery, shame about the smell! |

"Belize - it's like the Caribbean *used* to be
I thought Belize was a dire shit hole! So much poverty, it stressed me out seeing how the locals live."
Where were you?
Belize City is a bit rough but no worse than Peckham... Amd Belmopan's just weird. The rest of the country is beautiful |

I was stationed there when we were training in the jungle.
I also went back a few years later as part of a cruise and saw some of the projects we'd worked on and fallen into terrible disrepair. |

Zanzibar (not Stone Town but the eastern and northern beaches)
Alaska - not Anchorage or Fairbanks obvs
Easter Island
San Blas Islands
A few of the Fijian Islands
At the top of the Mulholland Drive hills looking out over LA
PS. Havana in Cuba is the least chilled out place ever! I found it a bit stressful to be honest but I did manage to relax totally in Varadero. |

Just done a three year round the world trip, travelling mostly overland or by boat. Easter Island I flew to, obviously!

We have travelled quite a bit, relaxing on a beach in Goa is amazing, the Maldives are like nothing else for peace and serenity, Cuba is one of my favourite places on earth it's so laid back and not overly hot either.
We went to Lanzarote for a week last month and booked into an adults only hotel the sound of silence round the pool was beautiful |
