Too many beards?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm beginning to get a few messages from guys all with the hipster beards....
Now I like the hipster beard as much as the next person ... I like it....
but now
Every beared profile picture is merging into the next
All looking the same...
it'd hard finding the right stance of whether people stand out anymore

I think we reached the nation's beard tipping point last year. The point where more men HAD a beard than didn't (or at least it felt like it). Beard Satiation if you will.
I don't mind as long as it's well kept! |

I love beards, so soft, love stroking them. Think they make a guy look more mature and manly. Each to their own hey. I don't think they're necessarily a fashion trend for every guy who has one, everyone is unique and their personality will shine through their copper coloured whiskers at the end of the day! Ps why do men have ginger in their beards?? |

I met a lovely man today with a beard and tattoos. Whilst chatting he bemoaned the amount of recently bearded men since he has been bearded since he was old enough to grow one and plans on continuing long after the beard trend is gone. I bemoaned the fact the chunky glasses I have worn my whole life are trendy. Fashions come and go but a man is more than his face fuzz even when it really, really suits him. |

No beard here, I'll never grow one it just doesn't suit me at all. Prefer to be clean shaven. |

Not many people in Derby have an African Violet goatee which will soon become Electric Blue " Could there be a reason for that? |

If you like your beard, great! Let it grow, keep it.
It's those numpties that have only grown one because some fashionista somewhere decided that big bushy beards were the latest 'in-thing' a year or so ago and grow it even though they're not particularly keen on it that I feel sorry for.
When the Fashion Police decide that it's no longer 'trendy' watch the razors come out en masse. Then if they decide that painting your face shocking pink with big green and blue spots is the latest 'thing' watch all the sheeple rush out for shocking pink, green and blue face paints.
If you want to be truly 'individual' dress and look in a way that YOU'RE happy with, not the way you're told to look by the Fashionistas. If that includes having a beard then great! Stick with it.
That's true individuality, not following everyone else like sheep |

The look is/was known as "lumbersexual" and, much like the metrosexual look a few years ago, was wholesale stolen from the gay community (this time the "bears"). Peak beard was certainly reached a while ago and we appear to finally be on the downturn.
I look forward to seeing what ridiculous style straight men choose to steal next. Fingers crossed that a fashion designer manages to convince folks that assless chaps are the next in thing.
Either way, can't wait to see the back of these squirrel-eating monstrosities. It's like walking through an 18th century Canadian frontiersman convention sometimes. |

My beard got me a modelling job so it cant go now.

That's because they're way ahead of the straight hipsters. A hipster only copies what the truly stylish do. |

But surely the 'truly stylish' are copying each other as well if they have a specific 'look'? |

Beards are and have always been naff, unless you have a water shortage- but it's your face, so do what you want with it.
What is interesting, is it helps identify the total fashion victims.
Not just the geezers who put one on, but then the females who trot into line and find it attractive.
Just shows how perception is manipulated by social pressure. Guess that's why advertising has such a big budget.
Who on earth wants some fuzz grizzling all over your genitals!

Oh no, because as soon as they see someone else wearing the same thing, they run off home to change. They are in a constant state of flux. It's be easier to be a hippy nudist. |

Well I was gonna dye it Turquoise, but I can only find that in semi permanent which washes out too easily |

That's strange coming from a vicars wife. Most vicars have beards don't they? Now where is the beard emoticon when you want it? |

I got a stubbly, trim beard, run over it every few days with my beard trimmer on no2 setting so no big bushy hipster beard. I'm wondering when this beard craze will die down. |
