I'm pretty lucky that 2 of my boys are quite happy to wear supermarket uniforms still. My eldest less so however I bought his super dry coat from eBay for a fraction of the price. Same with his bag last year.. what he doesn't know |

Mine go to special schools, they are sensitive to certain fabrics, so don`t wear uniforms, but they destroy their clothes a lot, so I still pay the earth, you can`t win in this game ,lol |

My boys schools do too but it's optional thankfully. They rate they grow it's too expensive to keep up. |

I need to make sure everything is 100% cotton as our son has severe eczema. So no school jumper with logo a saving of £15
However do need to go hunting for cotton black/ grey trousers ....pe kit etc.
I wouldn't like to put a total. |

3 children's uniform, shoes,PE kits including rugby shorts and swimming kit and trainers- over £300. Then there's coats, school bags and new equipment. That's with buying what we can from supermarkets or bhs, whose uniform prices are about the same as Asda. It keeps their every day clothes new for longer though and well worth it. |

Well it might be if you don't have to rely on that for things like food or heating or electricity or god forbid towards childcare costs to enable you to go to work.
And then there is the school dinners and the bus fares to get to school
The school trips
The additional equipment for specialist subjects
The constant letters home for donations to this that or the other for charities that the school support too

Have you got any Clarks outlet stores near you? They carry the school shoes at a fraction of the price and many are still styles that are in the high st shops.
I kept telling my friend this and finally dragged her to one last year and she got her three new school shoes and spots ones and got change from a 100 quid! And hers are all in big sizes too.

The only time we venture into Clark's is to get their feet measured, I begrudge paying that for a pair of school shoes to see them scuffed after the first day, a £15 pair from Tesco last just as long . |
