Do any women like Oriental men? I feel as if women don't find as attractive. The media doesn't help showcase enough asian male leads in Film and T.V, meaning we asians have to work twice as hard in impressing women |

I know everyone has their preferences in what they like and don't like but as an oriental male, I feel that we are conformed to negative stereotypes which doesn't help as in attracting women. |

"Come on people - let's not decend in to casual racism.
OP has a point..."
Are you refering to the "wong" comment? I took it as a clever play on words.
50 years ago, the complete joke was
Q. Why are there no telephones in China?
A. There are so many Wings and so many Wongs they might Wing the Wong number.
I dont see that as racism, casual or otherwise. Jusr humour that doesnt belittle anyone unlike just about every stand up comedian.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Perceptions need changing and I'm not sure how that can be achieved. |

The media is a good way to start. TV and Film especially the ones in Britain lack oriental male stars. I don't know whether its the lack of male talent (I surely hope not) or the fear of discrimination towards the actors that the media decide not to take a risk on them. |

I'm not sure. Eastenders has Asian families in and has for some time I believe I don't know about the other soaps.
I think one way forward would be to include Asian people in adverts in a positive way. They seep into our consciousness in a way other things dont.
I do also think that the remedy also lies in part in your own hands. |

I agree with the adverts. Britain is a multicultural country especially in the city of London. Its only right to showcase its diversity in many forms of media.
I do take the courage to speak to many women as possible. Its just trying to find the one who is attracted to you as well is a bit daunting but I enjoy the challenge and I have fun with it |

I found your play on words funny!
Thanks for the humour! Like i say often... I get bored of the word 'racism' being used each time the words 'race' and 'ethnicity'.
Only the OP can say if he is offended or not
To reply to the OP.
I never classify the men i am attracted to by race. I have found some Oriental men attractive but they also had a great personality, we were into the same stuff and they were stimulating!
You cant be everyone cup of tea, forget about them and focus on the others...
Have fun x

I used to hear this when I was a kid at school. I thought it was racist (and I'm open minded about these things) and worse still it wasn't that clever either. |

Not sure only Op can say that. There are others in same position and did feel offended. I'm personally bot offended but if someone said the wing/wong joke I'd be looking down at them as if they weren't very original or bright... |

My ex is half chinese and growing up in the north of england he heard that "joke" repeatedly. If it's offensive to some, and remember some are children, then it should be offensive to anyone with a bit of empathy. There's just no need to make fun of people because they look, sound, speak or have different names to us. It's immature at best, racist at worst. |

I'm not offended by these jokes. Some people can be but everyone has a different sense of humour. What we deem humorous are influenced by our cultural surroundings and there is a vast amount of culture in this world.

It is correct indeed, I am french and should have made my sentence clearer i meant anyone offended has the right to say so. Sorry if i have offended anyone with my unclear comment
But i do think a little humour should also been taken into account. Sometimes difficult to be humourous when it is written down.

You forgot Jet Li and Donnie Yen. Unfortunately there isn't many young oriental male stars who are going to take to their place yet. Hopefully a new generation will arise |

why has everything nowadays gotta be painted with the racism/sexism/gingerism/fatism/gayism/glassesism/fatarseism/jizism/anybloodyismycanthinkofism ffs it's getting a bit ridiculous.
On the other hand good luck op I'm sure there are plenty of ladies that will find you attractive from a straight bloke to another you don't come across as an ugly bloke. This is fab and its notoriously hard for single guys to get a meet on here.

It's not racism. A person is either attracted to another's looks or not.
And, surprise surprise, caucasians tend to find other caucasians attractive.
I'm sure Oriental people are more likely to find other Orientals attractive.
If you are a particularly attractive specimen of any racial background you're more likely to be fancied by people from other races.
It's that simple in my opinion. |

Probably because there are very few actors and celebrities from the Far East who have a strong grasp of English, hence they don't receive a huge amount of media coverage. I've seen bits and pieces from numerous Japanese martial arts films though and many of the leading men are strikingly (no pun intended) handsome. |

I'm Filipino, but find that I'm more physically attracted to Caucasian men, even people that I liked who were Filipino had physical traits that were Caucasian or they were in fact half Asian and half Caucasian.
Attraction I guess... but you know I have a soft spot for you OP lol x |

I dated an Oriental gentleman for a while. He had a bad habit of turning off all the lights in my flat. Eventually I snapped and said 'For fucks sake just dim some'. |
