I think thats a fair summary and having seen him live, his ego commands an arena but his talent is more village hall |

The SMiths should but wont - having said that, both Mozzer and Johnny have class bands of their own and do the back catalogue justice live. Just once would be special though.
And Oasis, and I'm sure that will happen. Lucked out in 2009 at V in Staffs, right down the front and they split after the show. Was also lucky enough to see Queen at Knebworth. So if I go to gigs, the bands have a fighting chance of splitting after , call me Mr Lucky eh |

"Although I think they are "
Sort of. It's always debateable but were they at their best, as a five piece, in 74-76?
For me, the Flying Burrito Brothers with Gram Parsons in good health.

I would like to see Clipse back together with pharell williams making beats for them
I would like to see ODB back with wu tang clan
I would like to see Malik B. back with The Roots
I would like to see Terminator X back with Public Enemy
I would like to see Eric B. and Rakim back making classic jazz rap deftly.

"Ali here, throwing Thin Lizzy into the mix "
LOL I saw them at Reading fest in 1983, which was penultimate gig! And then saw Lynott on stage with Gary Moore in autumn 1985, and look what happened to him. I'm cursed I tell ya |

I'm not a fan of reunited bands, never really works, you just can't get that magic back once it's gone .
There's plenty of band I'd have loved to have seen in there pomp.
Doors, Beatles, stones, led zep,CCR,DC, cream, faces, Slade, pink Floyd, trex, basically all the ones I missed as being too young.
I was lucky I saw both g&r and the smiths, both awesome bands |

I never got the logic of the Adam Lambert Queen lineup, or indeed Paul Rogers. The original could never be beaten. The nearest we saw in terms of replicating the euphoria was when May and Taylor came on with Foo Fighters at Brixton in probably 1999 and did "Now I'm Here" , was stunning |

Agree HEaton Park was stunning with KAsabian, I was one of the cheeky sods who got a refund the night the sound cut out, they still played full gig but I didn't feel bad getting a refund off the |Gallaghers, they've had plenty of ££out of me. The refund was a mock-cheque from Bank of Burnage signed by the brothers, the woman at Halifax was well impressed |

"Deep Purple, 1974 era."
Nah, as much as I like Coverdale ( must do as I've seen him 4/5 times) - that wasn't the best DP.
Purple was Gillan, Blackmore, lord, glover and Paice. Tho Hughes was good+ burn was excellent |

Just think, the Beatles mainly recorded on 4 track mono.
Can you imagine how stupendously magnificent they'd be using modern equipment?"
You obviously didn't see the abysmal clusterfuck of noise that was McCartney at the Olympics- not a 4 track in sight? |

me and a huge number of other people on various forums, twitter etc- the only thing to trump him was Trevor Nelsons epic attempt at being the most banal, misinformed presenter to grace a live TV show |

Well with his near legendary status and his vast fortune, I'm sure he'd be absolutely inconsolable about your opinion. |

He was in Elf, and also did a thing called the "Buterfly ball" with some of the Deep Purple guys which may have enhanced his name to Ritchie for joining Rainbow. does this help? |

"The Stranglers (if it were possible)." sadly Hugh won't do this, he is excellent on his own, good albums and great gigs. Stranglers are ok in concert but there's always the thing at the back of mind that "this would be so much better if Hugh was singing and playing guitar"... |
