Whisky (Scotch) seems to be available in any number of different casks. My personal favourite (Smith's Glenlivet) seems to be available in a number of cask 'finishes'.
I avoid all of them like the plague. |

Yes you are partly correct, they are available in many cask finishes, but this refers to the spirit that was in it before the whisky, eg port, sherry, cognac, etc etc, but they are all made from oak.
PS a portwood finish is beautiful. |
