Uni/Poly/College Rag Mags.

In my day each Uni made their own, they were cheap, 25p ish, 50 pages or so, packed full of funny jokes and all the money went to charity, less printing costs.

Now, they're £3, shared by many Uni's, not much more than 16pages, sparesly filled with bland and insipid "jokes" and unbelievably, the seller's get a cut 'cos students need to earn.

Fook me.

Brighton - even Hove!

I read on the childhood toys thread about soldiers. I used to have lots of good quality plastic soldiers, blue for Germans and khaki for English, I think. When my son was of a similar age, I wanted to get him some but they were really lousy quality, not much detail and not accurate at all. I was disappointed but he wasn't.

Also, the price of crisps and choccy bars is too high.

In the old days (whenever they were) you would be walking down the street and see someone shouting, muttering, singing or waving their arms and you would think 'Nutter', cross the road or walk past briskly with your head down/averted.

"Community spirit and neighbourliness "

Without blowing our collective trumpet - I've found fab is a community in itself!

In my time here I've seen people diagnosed with terrible illnesses, people who've been bereaved, people who've been horribly 'outed' (myself included in that one) etc etc - and the support and offers of practical help I and others have received is amazing! When my back went a fellow dabbed came round and massaged my back every night for five days until it improved - asking and taking nothing in return!

It's the people that keep me on fab/in the clubs far more than the sex!

Xx

this..

our son and his wife brought their first house in Cardiff and have been welcomed fully and i was most impressed to see one of the neighbours doing something as simple as taking the oldest lady in the street a Sunday lunch..

we live in a street where the people are friendly and will look out for each other but not get in the way..
