The current War situation our Country is involved in currently has been devastating to Families and Friends who have lost loved ones and has shown our Military People as the Hero's they are, we all appreciate what they have done and the losses and grief endured by the People that know them.
Once again it comes to light that some People have decided to say they are War Heros to benefit either personally or financially when they are not and never have been, what's wrong with these People. |

Pretty scummy Kev. One could imagine a few squaddies would like to 'download' thing or two to someone like this.
I once told people I had a trial for Sunderland football club and I hadn't but it's still not as bad as this. |

You answered your own question - it's for personal or financial gain, but I agree with you, it's a horrible thing to do. I was on duty at the Clapham Common rail disaster and passers-by were seen going near the site, getting themselves in a mess and trying to claim they were passengers. Luckily, most of them were sussed out before they could claim compensation. |

Apparantly there were over a thousand false insurance or compensation claims regarding the 9/11 attacks on the twin towers, they ranged from people claiming they were hit by falling debris or choked by dust right up to two people feigning their own death and having their spouses claiming life insurance!
I did have a man last November in my shop wearing a couple of medals and claiming to have been a veteran of the Second world war....trouble is he would only have been Eight or Nine years old when the war ended.
Some people have no shame

Remember Roger Day? He's the "war hero" who marched in the Armistice Day parade wearing medals he had no right to.
Sadly, some people still have the ability to make me shake my head in disbelief!! |
