Conservative MP claims 9p mileage, for driving a few yards. He says it all adds up (to a nice little earner?).
Taking the piss? His annual expenses claim was close to £200,000.
Would you claim for driving a few yards if you could? |

No, but this is how rich people get rich. |

The BBC reported his claim at £172k, a long chalk from £200k.
Of which £142k was for staff costs (fucking hell).
He also hasn't claimed for overnights in London since 2005.
It seems at first glance ludicrous but as he says, it adds up. If he's prepared to record it, fair enough.
At least it appears to be honest ( quite how he knew it was 362 yards whatever) rather than say a previous Home Secretary claiming a few quid for her husband's porn viewing.
Not to mention duck houses.

It's a culture that needs to be stopped - as 'fair' as it seems, this just highlights its abuse.
"I don't claim for most things under £10. "
Same. I don't know anyone who does differently. |
