Cambridge

Im not generally in the politician bashing business, and think that ours are much better than the ones in the U.S. but ihave just read a bbc news article about Rob Wilson, MP for Reading East (conservative) who made multiple expenses claims of less than £1 including a 9p claim for a 352 yard car journey.

Would anyone here bother to put in an expenses claim for 9p?

No, not at all... I always thought I don't give them enough money, I love getting poorer to help the rich

It's very easy to find ridiculous examples of silly claims (duck houses and horse shit abound...)...

But...

As bad as our politicians are, think, this isn't Italy, Russia or Nigeria.

That the UK is one of the richest, least corrupt, safer societies on the planet.

Where would you set the minimum value for 'bothering' to claim?

Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves, or something like that.

Ffs when i tried to claim back taxi fare from the hospital, which was £20, they wouldn't give it me and only paid me as if i had my own car. Was less than £2 anyway.

Most of our politicians are shit, no matter what you're grading them against. Most of them haven't had any life experience coz they can pay someone else to do stuff for them.

They are all either incompetent or self absorbed lunatics.

Power corrupts but most these two faced bastards were corrupted at University.

here

Labour mp Tristram Hunt did even better.

He claimed back 4p (yes that would be £0.04) for a 176 yard journey

How can he justify that? No petrol costs, no parking costs

And I've never seen him round my area, probably because it's not the posh part of Reading
