Close enough to London to have the ridiculous housing costs, far enough out to not really have the benefits of living in London.
It depends on what is important to you, you are closer to rural areas than Central London |

Congratulations on the job 
I don't know the area enough to iffer anything valuable im afraid but use the tfl planner or citymapper app to figure out timings and logistics for potential commutes etc. |
