To be honest OP I'm guessing had you stopped at the first sentence you would have had more replies. When asking about the state of the gusset that's probably what held the ladies back from responding (it possibly crossed a decency line for most)
Had you asked MEN how the like the gusset of a pair of knickers I'm quite sure your thread would have flourished! 
Know your audience and word your questions appropriately and I'm sure you'll have more success!
