This could be things like, not holding a door open, no "please" or "Thank you", talking on a mobile phone in a meeting or on public transport. Opening a door to an establishment and a person enters before allowing you to exit, pushing in line etc etc |

People who don't say thanks when you do something for them, be it let them out at junctions, or holding the door, its just a little thing that keeps the goodwill flowing |

oh god loads
not saying thank you when i hold back to let you past, hold the door open, let you out at junctions etc
not saying sorry when you bang into me
not registering i am there when i am at your checkout
not saying please and thank you etc
i think working in a cll centre has made me more sensitive to lack of customer service - i am a nightmare when on the phones or in shops/restaurants etc |

"Too many to mention! "
Too true! It seems that manners and civility are a thing of the past these days sadly. It's a shame - manners cost nothing and sometimes it's the little things that can make someone's day and takes such little effort.

I usually turn around and say in a loud voice 'You're welcome!' Occasionaly they respond, other times it goes straight over the top of them - too much for their pea brains to comprehend |

What disappoints me most are the people who find good manners or common courtesy an effort as opposed to a way of life.
Show me courtesy because you want to not because you should. |

No thanks for door opening for me...its a popular one!
Although I did get told off for doing that by a woman I was walking alongside once-we were involved in the same case, & had to go to the same place but she took exception to me holding the doors open for her...go figure!
Also spitting, old ladies blocking the pavement, people blocking the aisles at Tesco, & idiots on the road who cant/wont indicate, or wait their turn!
I should be on that Grumpy Old Men programme |

The word C U N T .....I can't bear it. Young men who wear their trousers so low you can see their pants. Spitting in the street, turns my stomach.
Oh and pretty much everyone that shops in the Pound Shop annoys me. |

Oh dear... prepare yourselves...
Spitting... that grunting and swirling before they expel the contents *vomits*
People who sniff... blow your nose bozo!
People who listen to their music full blast and you can still hear it... they have headphones for a reason you muppet... I don't want to listen to how big is your telly boom boom boom!
Driving manners... thank you when you let someone in/out
People who continue their phone conversation while being served in shops
Shopkeepers who are on the phone/chatting amongst themselves while serving you
Rude neighbours who clear their snow onto your driveway... yeah cause I didn't want to park there!
People who seem to think you're invisible whilst walking along the street then run you over with their pram/bike/scooter/handbag!
People who steal your food from the fridge at work... how rude?!
I think there are probably more but I'm putting my Victor Meldrew personality away for today!

Turn left at the Singing Ringing Tree |
Have been known to say 'You're Welcome' when people have gone through a door I have held opened and they have not said 'Thank you" or even smiled.
As to my other bug bears ........ I'd best retire quietly into the Grumpy Women room and eat some chocolate. |

Shop counter staff chatting with a friend as they serve you.
Spitting. Make em lick it up!
People who walk into you because they aren't looking/are walking backwards etc then scowl at you!
Entire families who take up the whole pavement and walk reeeaallly slowly.
The holding door open thing simply gets a loud sarcastic 'your welcome!'
Dog owners who laugh or ignore you when their filthy muddy dog jumps up you! (Funnily enough they don't ignore you for long if you kick their precious pooch away!!)
Unsolicited telephone sales calls from people, all of whom seem to have chosen their 'name' from a list - speak to my mate, Tone...click, duuuuuuuurrrrrrrr!
Pre-recorded unsolicited telephone sales calls from machines that happen twice a day without fail: 'hello, do not hang up this is an import.....'
My mum saying 'he won't get there any faster' as some prat does 120mph past us - yes he will mum!! lol
Oooooo, I could go on for hours....

I could write a long list but dont have long enough to mention everything. Manners and politeness are a big thing for me. I have both and expect the same in return. However, a lot on FAB have neither. |

"Has anyone been spoken to rudely on here by another user? And I dont mean rude in a good way, I meant discourteously, (no pun intended)"
Yes. By a very judgemental 'lady' who was actually completely wrong and failed to allow any explanation or clarification. The _iew from her Ivory Tower must be exquisite in the summer!
Other than that, no - unless you count a deleted unread messages! |

I think the thing that annoys me on here when it comes to manners and civility is when someone posts a thread discussing a bad meet or experience with another user of fab in the hope that everyone else will join in the virtual hanging of this individual.
even without naming, a person can read that thread, know it relates to them and read all the venom that seems to follow such threads.
we shouldn't assume that folk don't have feelings just because we're not talking to them directly. Nor should we assume that we're hearing all the facts from the op.

Personally I don't take it to heart, I know how you ladies get swamped. Some guys do seem to take it as a personal insult though! |

Manners are the oil that lubricates civilised society.
All overcrowded nations have a strict code of conduct or at least did have.
It basically allows us to live on top of one another without "going postal" all the time.
I keep saying this but "manners really do make a man or woman" and "they cost nothing"
Manners are common sense for most part and even in strange lands its easy to see what could or could not be good manners.
Rude ignorant and selfish people should be forced onto a small island (think South Gorgia)and allowed to piss each other off and hopefully wipe each other out |

People that dont thank me when i stop to let them pass in my car
People who cant manage excuse me please when i am in the local supermarket and blocking their way, i usually long it out knowing they are getting annoyed
Idiots that dont like it when i walk on the road as the pavements are too icey, may they crash and write their cars off
Loads more but i think good manners is the biggest is my worst, think very few have heard of them especially at my local supermarket |
