What's your meal nationality?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Just spotted a slight discussion on another thread about the origin of curry and it got me thinking...
So, what's your favourite meal and a drink combination?
Are you an Asian curry person, an Italian cuisine fan, an American burger lover or anything else?
I'm Italian all the way, I love a nice bolognese with plenty of parmasan cheese and a glass of wine.
My second choice is a good ole BBQ and a beer.
Specifically a good cheeseburger, for me the burger is the selling point of a BBQ |

"Thai meal all the way, with a nice cold lager.
Anyone in particular?
I can never remember the difference between green and red thai curry "
My favourite was a fish dish that a restaurant in Reading used to do. Love tom yam ghai soup too. |

Ah, thank you.
I always find fish dishes a bit touch and go, if it's good its really good but if it's not... |

I'll give the typical Fab answer:
As long as it's tasty I don't care if it's Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai, American or British etc.
I don't focus on just one type of cuisine, it's a range of things and the whole package for me, the blend of ingredients, how they complement each other, the variety aromas and flavours and how they sit on the palate, and of course it's all about the great company when sharing a meal...
There you go, all inclusive, shows how liberal and reasonable I am not just looking for one particular thing and doesn't offend or alienate any particular sub group by expressing a preference for one type
(p.s. In truth I do prefer Italian and Chinese as a rule )

"Roast beef with all the trimmings, and a really punchy red wine. Narrowly edges out all Italian food and wine

Speaking of... I forgot to give some love to the classic full English and strong coffee, partial to a Sunday/Christmas dinner too |

Plateau de fruits de mer
(French for plate of seafood platter).
By far my favourite dish and the first meal I'm thinking about when on French soil. Sitting with Mrs N Al fresco; eating away with our fingers watching the world go by at the harbour, bottle of Muscadet at the ready is absolutely blissful. |
