Some sort of coding glitch when the ampersand is used."
That's gone right over my head....what is an 'ampersand'?
Why don't people replace it with something that makes sense if they see that it has come out as 'gobbledy goock'??

ampersand is the symbol sharing the 7 key on a standard keyboard.

if you write a profile out in a text doc, and copy and paste it into your fab profile (or copy and paste text into your status) the site software gets confused with the ampersand '&' - and displays it as amp instead.
