The thought crossed my mind based on a post someone posted on my young, beautiful and full of hate thread, about guys with money conducting themselves with a similar level of entitlement and arrogance as 'gorgeous and I know it' women.
Think the of professional footballer, with their bursting bank accounts, I can't think of a single big name one who isn't either dating or married to a particularly beautiful woman...
Discuss. |

I think that speaks volumes for the ladies who seek these men. Its true that power and popularity do attract.
I know of clubs in Manchester where the footballers go that are crammed with beautiful girls hoping to meet a footballer with money.
I know most women are like this at all.
But it must also show the insecurity of these rich men who just want a trophy girlfriend. One day they must realise its not their sparking wit and repartee that attracts ladies to them. So it can only be a circle of insecurity.

"Because them women don't want a real job so hang out with footballers to live an easy life. They wont get an pension tho in the long run."
Pensions are important, maybe they'll have been wise and invested with the Pru? |

Did he actually say that? I'd be very impressed by his character if he did |

Without a doubt.
At my local Tesco's they are forever throwing free food and provisions at the beautiful women whilst some poor mingers have to resort to stealing.
Other retail stoes are of course available but no free food is offered at ASDA (ex Netto store).
For those who are curious, my ex would've bough me own label beans. |

No idea where he said it, but it topped a poll of funniest sporting quips. George Best came second. |

I think that success and talent are attractive traits in a man. And yes I'm about to generalise here (don't shoot!) but men are visually stimulated more so than women, so the wealthy man/attractive woman thing is bound to happen. |

For us poor ordinary guys, it may be helpful to remember that not all "glammed up" WAGS and such like are actually beautiful under all the make up and glam.
Though many are, i wouldn't say no to Mrs G. |

I guess people (note people - not men or women!) will use whatever they have in their tool box to increase what they think will attract others.
Some use their looks.
Some use their money.
Some use a position of power or influence.
Some use their sense of humour.
Some use their huge cock or mahoosive boobs.
It's human nature. Is it right or wrong? Who knows and who cares. Some will be attracted to some of the above attributed whilst others won't give a monkeys!

I forgot to ask.
Are these men with money good looking or munters?
Because some of those footballers are what plenty of women would find attractive.
So are they using their looks or their wads?

As the parent of a professional footballer I have to be careful on this one, but we are very careful who we let him near and where we let him go ... he is young, but he has a contract .... bringing money in and full time, football and travelling. Money management is vital and he works very, very hard. He has had no teenage life apart from football and school, which I made him complete. I have the career and the higher pay and Mr is still searching for his new vocation after being laid off some years ago. He is the homebody, I am the career woman, but it suits us fine. These stereotypes are meant to be broken or at least challenged, surely? |

Shit. I always thought I was OK looking and just had a touch of work ethic in my make-up. What I should have done instead of working hard was make myself look attractive so I could get a rich man. Damn. |

someones financial wealth or what is generally accepted as attractive doesnt usually attract me. Money certainly doesnt and although i can occasionally admire the looks of someone commonly accepted as attractive, its very rare i find them sexually attractive |

"Bernie Ecclestone......that is all
Ah you beat me to it...!
I raise you
Lloyd Webber and anyone?"
Peter Beardsley?
Ian Dowie?
And there's many an actor that wasn't 'blessed' with good looks too.
Mind you. There's many an actress/singer/sports woman that are what many would describe as stereotypically 'unattractive' and married. We're the guys after their pennies?
Like many such subjects looking at things in a two dimensional way it gives no room for balance, personal taste as to attraction and any weight to the 'personality over looks' argument. Why can't attractive, rich and successful people not be nice, interesting and attractive for any other reason than their looks or bank balance?

If you marry for money you'll earn every penny.
Or more likely get binned off for a younger model in a couple of years. I suppose both footballers and those who pursue them have limited shelf lives. |

A bit like Cheryl Ty/Cole, teen boys pin up disposed of like trash by her beloved hubby Ashley. I wonder if that girl he got pregnant ever had his baby? I remember reading that his 'people' offered her money and a holiday to have an abortion, what a lovely fella |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
When Beckham got together with Posh Spice she was the one with the money and the name.
If a man (or woman) has money and views who they have on their arm as part of the package for thger image they want then there will be women/men willing to be that commodity. Transactional relationships exist in every sphere of life.
There are rich and/or famous people who have love relationships too. You find the relationships where your group of people socialise. If you only see young, 'beautiful' women because those are the only women you get to interact with as a rich man it's hardly surprising that that is where you end up funding someone.
Just another thought: many hated Camilla, thinking her ugly compared to Di. The love match that stood the test of time was with the woman everyone dismissed as ugly.

I don't think most people hated her (and Charles) because of her looks. |

David Beckham was already footballs poster boy when they got together, he had plenty of wealth and fame of his own - of course, he had to work for his, she just answered an ad in a newspaper. |

Didn't Paul Newman recently celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary. Possibly one of the world's most admired men and truly handsome. Mind you, his Mrs is no Netto shopper.

Well...yeah alright, the point is he achieved his fame through his own efforts, she just had to sing badly, pout a lot and the corporate machine behind her and the Spice Girls did the rest. |

Hmmm. Lots of people say things like that as if it was absolutely no effort at all for her to turn up at gigs, rehearse, keep herself well groomed, tour the world etc. It might not have been hewing coal from the rock face but there must have been some effort on her behalf. In my opinion women like Victoria Beckham have made the best of what they have and wouldn't be able to do that without a willing public, I say good for her and others like her I prefer her to the Kardashians |

Yeah she had nothing to do with creating the Beckham brand & making David into more than just another cute footie poster boy.
Taking the opportunities that have come her way and becomming a very successful and respected designer.
and as for the singing ~ no different from a lot of modern day pop artists. Reply to an ad or go on the xfactor, what's the difference....... |
