Cockiness is rooted in insecurity and disrespect, it comes from a person trying to show confidence.
Confidence is rooted in security and respect, it doesn't even need verbal communication. You don't try to be confident, you either are or you're not. |

"confidence.... self belief
arrogance..... self obsession
" I think end of the day we all have to learn to love ourselfs for who we are inside and out as resentment , criticism and guilt are the most damaging pattens and thats not arrogance .... theres loads of people on sites like this looking for self-approvel from others and may come across arrogenet self obsessed but its a front for alot. Most are really nice people i find when you get to know them. jo xxx |

"what do you think, what is the difference between cocky and confident ?
Interpretation."
good point, I think - I might find somebody cocky and my best mate might find him/ her confident/ assertive. And vice versa, of course. So I guess it depends also on my experience of life and that person at that moment in time...as that shapes my interpretation. |

Confidence is having sufficient knowledge and experience to make informed judgements, decisions and say the right things appropriate to the conditions/environment etc...
Cockiness is being over confident, liable to make one looks like a fool. |
