right.... after my 70th billion set of earplugs have died tonight because of the wires i am now thinking "wireless headphones"
does anyone have any? I am not thinking beats because they are ridiculously expensive and you are paying for the name... and quite frankly they are not that good...
but any other suggestions down the *ahem* cheaper end of the scale would be welcome...
p.s there is a krispy kreme donut in it for anyone who really helps.... |

So you currently have used earplugs but you want wireless headphones (over ear)?
I have no idea about wireless, but why not buy a decent set of wired headphones - you can buy genuine spares for most of the components for very little. |

I'd recommend having a poke around on AVForums - I prefer forums to websites for reviews and feedback because you know the changes of any kind of affiliation are significantly reduced. |

I have those they are great, all mp3s are a low grade sound file as compared to vinyl recordings so expensive head phones dont make too much difference on something like an ipod |

I bought a pair of wowcher,£25, built in battery chargers on phone charger, works on Bluetooth
The sound is fine, perfectly adequate but there not quite as comfortable as my favourite sony ones, heavier and bulkier
And no where near as comfortable to nod off on the sofa listening to |

I was looking at some recently, Sony, Panasonic and Philips all do wireless headphones, you are looking at around the £50 to £60 mark and can pick them up in Argos or have a mooch on Amazon and see if anyone is selling them cheaper.

unless you go expensive avoid wireless they wont last long and pick up interference best go for ones that work off a 2.1 or 3.1 plug then you just replace the wire and can get them off ebay cheap avoid the sales patter of new 7.1 quality unless you own cini world their is nothing that produces 7.1 sound |

sennheiser at the best.
I've got their rs170 wireless headphones and have had them since 2008 still sound perfect I think they do an open cup rs180 which will sound a bit better but let more sound escape
About 170 quid mind |

They use 1 aaa batteries and can be charged on the dock or what I do is I bought a pack of eneloop batteries and have 2 in the headphones 2 on charge and just swap them over they last a good few days.
Can't speak for the open cup cerise but the 170s are very loud for you but don't bleed sound out too much if you've got flatmates.

Wireless headphones are improving, especially as new Bluetooth technology is getting more sophisticated.
If however you are looking for the best quality sound, then wired should be your first choice.
my preference is over ear - sometimes not the most glamorous option, but certainly provides a cleaner ambience.
Todays popular brands (Beats, Bose etc) are typically geared up for image over substance - and in most cases are tweaked to provide a beafier bass presence. Perfect if that favours your choice of music - but not so good if you have a wide range of music. Also I don't think the price is in line with the actual build quality. (Take a look at some brand Chinese copy headphones and you realise the build quality, materials and sound are the same as the genuine article - only a fraction of the codt.
