Hereabouts

Either there's a ghost in this flat or I keep forgetting to turn the bathroom light off.

However when I was a child I was in a room locked from the inside and I woke up with a hand print bruise on my back

It's weird but sometimes I just know things. A couple of weeks ago, someone who lives about a hundred miles away told me she'd lost something. Without even meeting her or knowing the layout of her house, I told her exactly where the lost item was straight away

It is one of those things that you either believe in or not. I have yet to hear of a non beliver being converted without them experiencing event.

I have been involved with a funeral directors and have seen a number of what we would describe as ghosts as clear as a live person.

I have experienced a number of poltergeist events and only one scary event.

I don't think that people exist post death, other than as physical material that's recycled. So assume that ghosts and spirits are relic tales from a more primitive era.

There's loads we don't understand about the world but a missing piece is not likely to be that we human animals that evolved from other earlier animals are going to have anything but one mortal life.

Our brains and minds are incredibly powerful but also very biased.

We distort our interpretations of the perceptions that we get. There's no unbiased perception that we take. Can our minds see things that aren't really there? Of course. Do we twist the input that's received? All the time. We are wide open to suggestion and much of that suggestion comes from our unconscious mind.

It's worth a cynics viewpoint to help cut out the inherent biases that we have to make things up.

Which is one of the reasons that ghosts always fail to materialise on video or sound recordings. Thinking you saw something is not the same as seeing it. "I know what I saw" well sometimes, you didn't! As for a "feeling", well that's hardly proof of anything.

Herts

The logical part of my brain always said it wasn't possible but I have seen too much not to believe there is something...

We had all sorts going on at my Dad's old house - detached house and you often heard footsteps going through the hallway and up and down the stairs, had a young army guy who used to come and talk to me regularly during the night, my nephews and neices used to keep going out in the hallway when they were babies and used to laugh and babble at the same spot, and the dog used to behave in the same sort of way.

One thing in particular I remember was being downstairs on my own when I heard footsteps come down the stairs and up the hall, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man walk past the front room, open the kitchen door (the dog who slept in there at night got all excited and started whimpering), go in and the close the door behind him.

I went in thinking it must've been my Dad or step-brother and there was nobody in there.

What i have seen include:

A large vase move from the shelf, its normal resting place, about 6 feet horizontally before dropping.

Glasses doing similar from a table, moving 4 or 5 feet before breaking in mid air.

A necklace rising up a friend's neck all by itself before tightening. (I snapped the necklace.

Numerous "people" walking in feont of me before "disappearing" even though i was the only person in the building.

And several less clear cut instances.

As i said in my previous posting, this is not something you can convince others of. If you experience an event you believe. If you dont experience such an event then you wont believe and nothing i can say will convince you otherwise

It is understandable to be sceptical about so called "Ghost hunting" shows on TV.

But it must be remembered that they roll the camera only once, on one occasion at any given place.

I've been visiting a Well known "haunted" spot of for 22 years, visiting 2/3 times a year, and saw nothing until last year, when I saw two ghosts, and heard some very strange and convincing things and caught on camera lots and lots of "orbs" and a picture of a gated door, in a doorway where there is no door actually there.

Seeing or experiencing such things I believe is a culmination of many things coming together for the paranormal event to manifest (whatever that event might be)

I am a believer, but not easily convinced, and every experience I have had I have tried to rationalise or disprove until I had no other choice to accept.

I've had plenty of experiences.

Some experiences after investigation I have rationalised or discovered it as a "normal" thing, others I have not and have been led to the only conclusion it's a paranormal thing.

I've had a lot of very intense encounters so I KNOW the paranormal exists...

But I think it's right that people remain skeptic until they experience it themselves, just believing for the sake of it isn't good.

"

Why odd? Think about it. None of the events i mentioned lasted more than a few seconds. So, the time taken to gather thoughts, find your camera / mobile phone, press the right buttons, focus on the "ghost" and click. Too late the apparition has been and gone, the objects lay shattered on the floor.

It doesnt surprise me in the least. Ghosts are not great conversationalists so i dont expect them to hang around

derby

It was around last may on here, and I was watching some adult movies on the Internet, when I first saw what I thought I did I watched it more and only Because I,d seen programmes like most Haunted I knew what I could see, the People in the movies was the same People In the same building each time there must have been between 4/6 movies with Orbs most certainly seen I thought a bit Of dust at first but you Could clearly see these objects moveing around on their own free will Some bigger than others and in one Room quite a lot of them just above the occupants, the performers were unaware of these orbs, which I think is the norm? perhaps you can only see Them on film, the building must have regular visiting spectre,s not sure about haunted? nothing was mentioned about these in the film, but I know what I saw and it was,nt dust but Active orbs lots of them...
