They're trying to butter the Pakistan gvt up so they stop turning a blind eye to the Taliban, AQ etc operating in their country and start letting us/ISAF/ANA into the badlands on the Pakistan/Afghan border to route out the bad guys.

The most recent UK to Pakistan aid figure I can find is for 2009-2010 and the amount is £140.4 million.
