Bristol

No local anaesthetic as they are not licensed to prescribe or administer; most will use a spray that chills the immediate area and reduces the immediate discomfort.

Some piercers will use a chemical numbing solution, but usually not for your first genital piercing.

The chemicals they use can also be very damaging to the skin and it's agony if the chemical gets on your clit (ask me how I know...).

It doesn't hurt that much. The pain lasts for about two or three seconds. If you can't put up with that amount of pain, you shouldn't really be getting labia piercings - because the healing pain is about a hundred times worse.

Numbing can cause permanent muscle damage in sensitive areas, I am afraid you have to grin and bare it for the few seconds it takes, its a productive pain so worth it if you want some lady garden bling.

I had a VCH (Vertical Clitoral hood) piercing around 3/4 years ago. I will never ever get it done again if it healed up!!! Big needle straight through. Painful which lasts about 30 seconds!! Not saying every piercing is the same but omg it hurt!! Looks good now tho

I was hoping for 4-6 rings ...if its too bad for the first OBE, there's no way I could do the rest and my weirdness wouldn't allow for just one so would take it out and be wasted

Go on, tell me how you know x

I thought in March they had classed genital piercings on women as FGM or has that rule not been passed?

I have a set of large gauge labia rings, and some were done with numbing. The piercer got some on my clit accidentally and it was probably more painful than when I smashed up my quadricep in a car accident at 80mph.

If it helps...I have both nipples pierced..pain lasts for a few seconds....I know someone who has had a vch and says the pain was minimal. I guess it is down to individual pain thresholds.

Labia was *much* more painful than my VCH. And several times more painful than my labia.

But the pain of having it done was nothing compared to the pain of healing them for quite a while afterwards.

They did cover it, but the substance is liquid and therefore runs into the crevices. It was my own choice to have it numbed, she wasn't keen on doing it.

I don't think my clit has been as sensitive since, I suspect it is related.

Had four labia piercings. The pain lasted at most 30 seconds after getting them pierced but the healing period after was quite sore.

My clitoris is not very sensitive anyway so not bothered about losing sensation....

Might have to have a rethink ....gutted

Just have it done without numbing. It's really not that bad.

Worth pointing out though - numbing didn't actually take much pain away at all. You can still feel the needle traveling through your body and you can still feel the sharp pain as they insert it.

My friend took out her clit piercing recently and said it was super sensitive afterwards and she had better orgasms

Tbe brain will only register one pain at a time so if you bite your bottom lip just before the needle goes in as you breathe out you should be fine. Numbing isn't a good idea as it makes tbe healing pain worse when it wears off.

I think labia piercings look pretty sexy. I like Opearl and Penelope Black Diamond's piercings. They're just so ott and different.

So hot! She's partially the inspiration for stretching mine to 4mm. But they become impractical for actually having a life after a while.

Bimbles off to have a look at profile, comes away sobbing.

Finds an unaccompanied Fry's Turkish Delight in pantry, cheers up.

She is modelling in one of the jewellery catalogues I have and I have to say her labia weights do look ever so slightly hot
